I am flying out on Air Canada this week....yaaaaa haven't flownout of Toronto in ages...more of a SW girl myself but got a great price.

Anyhooooo I have a 6:30 am flight and I think I have to be there 2 hours early. Is the airport and AC ticket counter open at 4:30 AM???

Thanks

I don't think you need to be there that early. I can't remember though. Sorry

Last 6:30 flight I had out of Pearson was with Sunwing. Their check-in was open at 4am but security did not open until 5 am...although the lineup for security was pretty big when it did open.

We live about a 30 minute drive from Pearson....we left home at 3:30 and had plenty of time.

A/C web site suggests a check in of 90 minutes before your departure time.

We leave tomorrow morning on a 10:15 A/C flight! Can't wait!!!! Have a great time and let's keep our fingers crossed for some nice warm weather!:cheer2:

Great job on getting great prices with AC. If you dont mind me asking how much did you pay? I a looking to also fly out of TO instead of BUF but am not having much luck. I find the taxes are more than the flights....lol

Kim - I did the 6:30 AM flight back in January. Didn't get to the airport until 5AM. We checked in online from home the day before so we were pretty much set. Actually, I messed something up and we still had to get in line but I think we only had to wait about 10 minutes.

Forgot to wish you good luck on the Princess 1/2 :) I wish I were going!

I had that flight in January also! The Air Canada desk opened at 4:30 (I was at the airport at 4am and had to wait in a line). The security didn't open until 5am and there was a significant line for this also.

But I would be there by 5am and you will be fine - beside....AS IF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SLEEP!!!!!

We fly out of Buffalo next week!

If it's in your budget (and depending on how far you live from YYZ) I'd highly recommend staying over at the Sheraton Gateway hotel. It's right there IN the airport. You can take your time going up the day before. I think we got the hotel for $129 for the night.

We flew out of Toronto in 2005 for an early flight and it worked out great. It was really fun for the kids and big kids watching the planes take off and land too.

Thanks all for the info.

Hey Vicky, wish you where doing Princess as well. Hardly got to see you in Jan:hug:

I paid $322 for direct flights for 1 person. Still more then I would have paid for SW but DH would prefer I didnt' drive to Buffalo Airport alone so he would drive to Buffalo and back 4 times so I figured it was worth a little extra and he can just drop me off on his way to work and pick me up on his way home.

Everyone who is also leaving soon. Have a awesome time!!!

hockeychic...thanks that is a great price and for the bit more worth the short drive. I am a spit from the airport and this will be the first year we may be flying out too...

Kim - I know!!! I was late to the Pop meet so I couldn't stick around. I saw you and Mike after the 1/2 but I couldn't get my DF to walk faster :) I think $322 is a really good price for Pearson. The cheapest I've gotten tickets there was $280.

AndyMcV - I thought about staying there. I know it sometimes shows up on Hotwire for under $100. Is it noisy with the planes?

Hi Vicky

I like it really quiet when I sleep and no it was not a problem at all. I think the rooms that face the airport are super soundproofed somehow. :thumbsup2

Here's a shot of our little guy in 2003 looking out our room window. I guess now the hotel has a "monorail" into the airport. Not sure of the details though.
