Please don't forget to take a moment tomorrow to remember the men and women who gave their lives on December 7th 1941. Thank you to the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom and the families who lost their loved one's.

Thank you Donnie. We get so wrapped up in the day to day troubles in our country these days, we tend to forget the sacrifices and the TRULY challenging times 69 years ago. As we try to fix the mess this country is in, we could learn a lot from that brave generation that didn't point fingers, but just rolled up their sleeves and worked together to get it done.

I was thinking about this yesterday while I was reading a book set in the '40s. It's hard to believe that was 70 years ago. I, too, have to wonder if this generation could do as well in that same situation. I'm just thankful that we had them when we did.

AMEN ,,,, the most brave people. ,our armed services, and those whom have made the ultimate sacrifice, for us.....GOD BLESS...:worship:

Several years ago I was selected to go on an Employee Recognition Trip to Hawaii. Here are several pictures:

The company no longer has the employee recognition trips because they are now considered "junkets" by the government; but, I was honored to attend the conference and even more honored to visit Pearl Harbor.

Funny thing. I will not buy/hang on wall in my home/office a calendar that doesn't recognize 12/7.

Somebody much smarter than me once said, those who don't study history are destined to repeat it. (para phrased)

Donnie, thanks for posting this!

I had a discussion with my kids regarding Pearl Harbor early this morning. I'm so grateful for those opportunities!

I just noticed that mine doesn't have it! Wow! It has "Boxing Day" though. :sad2:

:scared1:Throw that thing in the garbage, girl!

Those are great pics Judy. A few years before my ex's grandpa passed her mother and husband took him back to Pearl Harbor. It was an emotional day. He was walking across a golf course when the planes began to bomb. He ran back and joined the fight. There are so few survivors left and every year the news coverage seems to dwindle. It was these men and women who shaped the country and made it great. When I cast my vote November 2nd I remembered those brave people and voted to take our country back or it would forever be a slap in the face to them. That's all I got to say about that.

I believe the 3000+ men and women that have paid the ultimate sacrifice since 9/11 proves that the younger generations are willing to sacrifice as well. Considering we have been fighting two battles/fronts longer than WWII and the rebuilding efforts post WWII in Germany and Japan where does ghat leave us?

In no way am I belittling our troops. I am a proud military spouse. However, I sometimes wonder when it will end.

I did call my Grandfather and thanked him for serving in the Pacific. I am fortunate yo still have him around.

We were at EPCOT on Veterans Day and my wife and kids went threw the gate and turned around to find my dad and he was gone. We found hem a few minutes later as he talked with an older gentleman on a scooter. The man had a hat on that we have all seen so many times and I never thought twice about. The __ __ War Vet. Hat.Well my dad a Vietnam Vet stopped to say thank you to this man who was a Korean War Vet. I think it made the mans day! I know it made mine and it was my birthday! So dont forget to thank all who served so we can enjoy a place like WDW and the USA. And special thanks to all those who fought and gave there all at Pearl Harbor "They Truly Are The Greatest Generation" :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thank you for this post. This has also been a special day for our family as my uncle, Jim is a survivor. He lost many many friends that day and never tires talking of them. Each year as we honor those that gave their lives we thank God for those that survived.

And it's my sister's birthday and he always knew he would always remember it.

The oil drops that float to the surface are known as "The tears of the Arizona"....the story goes that they will stop coming up.........
when the last Pearl Harbor survivor dies.

We used to have three Pearl survivors in my little town of 2500.....
but now only one is left....he's 94 and still gets around pretty good.:thumbsup2
