Peanut Butter Sandwich Question

Will the restaurants that offer a peanut butter and jelly uncrustable also make a regular peanut butter sandwich?

I'm taking a wild guess here and say "none". Why would they keep peanut butter on hand when they had the uncrustables? Why do you ask?

The PB and J sandwich on the menu at the Plaza in MK is a "real" one, not an uncrustable but that is a TS restaurant not CS.

I doubt they also serve uncrustables, but don't know for sure. I last ate here in May 2010.

I am asking because two out of three will not eat jelly on a pb sandwich. We ate at the Plaza restaurant last year and they were more than happy to make a plain peanut butter sandwich. I just wasn't sure if the menu said uncrustable pbj if they would make a plain peanut butter sandwich since most that offer that have bread where they make other sandwiches.

You can always make your own. I packed plenty of PB&J's into the parks when my DD was younger. I used a Glad/Ziplock square container to keep the sandwich from getting squished. If you don't have a car you can pack the PB in your suit case (as long as you're checking the bag) and buy loaves of bread at any DVC resort.

ETA: My DD ate them at Counter Service restaurants not TS restaurants.

It's not likely, no. If you have a way to bring the peanut butter (since you can't take it through airport security) then making them yourself may be your best bet. Some of the buffets had a make your own peanut butter sandwich thing - but I thought I heard they got rid of those because of allergy concerns.

Peanut butter is also available at DVC resorts but it's pretty pricey.

The Plaza is also the only place we found a *real* PB&J sandwich. If you are staying on property, the food courts all have 2 slices of bread and small single servings of peanut butter that you can buy. You could always make a couple in the food court before you head to the parks. :)

Just start making them try it with the jelly. What kid doesn't like peanut butter and jelly? How odd!!!

I don't find it odd at all. It's actually healthier for them to eat one without the jelly. Why would I encourage my children to eat something sugary when they are perfectly content to eat it as it.

Thanks for the suggestions of making a sandwich. Usually I would just do that but that doesn't really make sense this trip due to getting the free dining.

I have the opposite problem....my DS will only eat a jelly sandwich. And it has to be a strawberry jelly sandwich. And since all the uncrustables at WDW are grape jelly we can't even try to make him eat one of those.

good luck!!!

Nothing odd about kids not liking jelly on peanut butter sandwiches. My DD has never liked jelly. She will either eat a peanut butter sandwich or a peanut butter and fluff sandwich.

:lmao: I remember these days! I'm still going through it a bit, but as they are growing older, they are becoming (a bit!) less fickle!

We've gone through the peanut butter only, peanut and banana, peanut butter and jelly (no banana), peanut butter and jelly and banana phase. One of the them maybe even asked for ketchup or mustard on their peanut butter! :rotfl:

Or pizza....we had a "no cheese, sauce only" kid for awhile. Loved cheese, just not on the pizza. Then, right as DS #1 started eating cheese pizza again, DS #2 wanted HIS cheese picked off his pizza! :upsidedow

I think making one pb sandwich to throw in your stroller/pack for the day is the best option. Just maybe limit yourself to making it for ONE meal that day, and suggest your child pick something else for the other meal. After all, Mom needs a vacation from all the sandwich making, too!

Happy eating!

Earl of sandwich also does a real peanut butter and jelly sandwich for kids i'm sure they'd make it without - all freshly made. They were happy to modify DD's turkey sandwich.

Hey I still don't eat cheese on my pizza... but I'm lactose intolerant :)

My kids aren't big jelly fans, they'd rather have "fluff"... I am going to bring bread and peanut butter (driving) and make my own. They could live on nothing but peanut butter sandwiches... they don't, but they COULD. :)

How about the Nutty Dog phase? Peanut butter on a hotdog. This grosses me out when I have to make it for her, but she's just like her Daddy, because he likes them too.

Oh my! I have never heard of pb on a hot dog. My DH has to have mayo on his pb sandwiches though. You never know till you try it I guess! My gang likes gravy instead of syrup on pancakes also.:confused3

you could also go to gardengrocer.com and order a jar of PB and bread, ziplock baggies, and if you need other things (water, juice, etc) order it through them, they'll send it to your resort.

I wouldn't waste a dining credit on PB sandwiches all week :lmao:

At the grocery store I saw some individual servings of peanut butter - maybe a few ounces worth per little cup...

Marketed as you can use them to dip stuff in - celery, pretzels, etc.

Maybe throw a few into your backpack for the day and I'm sure restaurants have sliced bread you can buy.

Might be a good back up plan...just in case.

THis time around for us DD was on a yogurt (only Stonyfield YoBaby kind). So made sure we had one with us wherever we went. And she won't TOUCH PB&J - weirdo! LOL!

The places that serve uncrustables just have those and not separate peanut butter. A few buffets still do have just plain peanut butter and then plaza and earl of sandwich as others have mentioned. One of my kids doesn't like jelly but learned to like the uncrustable at wdw. Even many years later she still hates jelly but will eat an uncrustable :confused3 It's probably all the white bread and sugar since we use whole wheat and unsweetened PB at home :headache:
