I saw on the kids' menu for Carnation Cafe, there was "peanut butter painter's palette". Can anyone tell me what this is?

They bring out bread with peanut butter on it on a large artist pallete, and all the trimmings are on little bowls along the edge so they can make their own PB & J sandwich. They give you bananas, marshmallows, jelly, raisins, etc. and the kids can do what they want.

It is great because it keeps them busy while you eat a nice lunch, I'll see if I can find our pictures.

Here you go, DD's enjoying their creations

Cute pictures Andrea. We haven't tried that. Next time it's on our list. Dd thought your pictures looked like "the coolest lunch EVER!":thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the pics  My DD7 loves peanut butter, but hates jam. She's very fussy. This would work out great because she'll eat the bananas and raisins on the side, while enjoying her plain old sandwich!

Well, isn't that just the coolest thing ever! :)

I wonder, though, how long they'll keep this around seeing as there's so much push for places to go "peanut-free"?

That seems to be a Canadian concern. :confused3 I was shocked when I took a cross-border trip to Buffalo to see how many restaurants had nuts on the menu. Disney has always had PB & J sandwiches at their fast-food restaurants, but they're pre-made. The first time I went with my DDs to WDW 4 years ago, that surprised me quite a bit. It does make the trips more enjoyable though -- my picky one can only eat a cheesestick for lunch at school everyday.

That looks fantastic! DS's will love those. DS1 will enjoy the making process as he loves to cook and DS2 will enjoy taking the bread and dipping it into everything! What a great idea. I have never seen or heard of these. How much do they run?

They were $5.99, so the same as the other kids meals around! The girls love them and I like that it keeps them occupied while I enjoy my favorite turkey sandwich there!

It is great that everything is on the side, my girls also tend to spread the sandwich but eat the other stuff seperately. Hope you all enjoy it as much as my girls do!

I would make a PS as lines for this restaurant can be usually around 45 minutes during lunchtime!

Also wanted to add that if your kids will like this, they would possibly also really like the "make your own pizza" at Storyteller's! It follows along the same lines, then they put their name on a stick and send it back to be cooked!
