Anyone have experience doing Universal with a Peanut allergy? Tips on what is safe (we will obviously double check but would be nice to have some ideas) or not!? Especially in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

We are interested in butter beer, fish and chips as a meal.....any ice cream places have options!?

Any tips or advice from someone who has dealt with this allergy there would be much appreciated!

Suggest you contact UO and have them work with you
on the dietary info
They are extremely helpful in letting you know the eateries that’s are peanut free in the parks, hotels and City Walk

Hope you have a great vacation!!

My DH has a food allergy but it’s a much easier one to avoid (shell fish) I can tell you from experience though that Universal is very good with food allergies.

Tell them when you are seated, before you order, and speak to the chef at every restaurant. They will make your food themselves and separately.

We didn’t make a mobile food order on the app because we knew we would need to speak with the chef (thats how they have always handled food allergies, before Covid, or the last couple of years with app ordering etc) you will order at the actual register, not at the table through the app.
For us that’s any where that serves seafood so its easier to avoid.

For a peanut allergy I would ask everywhere even the food carts because they do have roasted nuts on some of the carts.

Soooo, this is obviously training week...no one really knows the allergy stuff right now, except the folks on City Walk. If you have allergies (especially complicated ones - aka, having more than 1) and are coming in the VERY near future, I'd make City Walk reservations every day for lunch (not dinner, b/c those folks told me they struggle at dinner with lack of staff and overwhelming crowds)...and I'd bring my own snacks or only buy the "absolutely certain" snacks...

When I get home, I'll post more, but nothing beat the one staff who literally said, "umm, well, I'm not sure, but medical is located at the front if you need it"...I went online to check on my phone at vegan sites (since I have dairy and tree nut, and the product was only a concern for dairy) to decide for myself, since that staff was not helpful in the way that one might have wanted helpful...

That said, yesterday was better than Monday, so someone must have trained some of the staff for me this week (just like I did for them - nothing like telling a new chef that whey is a dairy product...and listing a bunch of dairy products for her to look for in ingredient lists that don't scream "this is dairy" - that chef did make me my best park lunch of the week, so I do give her extra credit for learning on the fly)...

I have a peanut allergy. Food items are well marked with allergy information, and never be afraid to ask the staff if you have questions or aren't sure. I've never had any issues, and I've had your examples of ice cream, fish and chips, and more than enough butter beer. I always try to check off an allergy box on a reservation or food order when it's available, and I talk to someone if I've never eaten there and it makes sense. For example, I've never had an issue at a quick service burger place, but your ice cream example, I'll ask every time. Cross contamination is too easy in ice cream shops, but as long as the staff knows, they will ensure you get a safe product.
