My DS is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. We've known this fora while and just had him tested again. He was allergic to eggs and that came back normal. He had his second reaction to eggs in Epcot in 2005.

We've been avoiding anything with nuts in the ingredients. So far he can tolerate thing that say may have been manufactured on the same equipment as peanuts. KWIM?

What should I do about WDW? We leave June 2. We do not have the dinning plan. He will most likely be eating our food. He's not a big eater so we probably won't get him his own. Will they charge me extra? Can I just tell them he'll be eating off my plate? We don't have many ADR's, we plan on eating CS most off the time and food brought from home. Any suggestions? TIA.

Oh, we are still avoiding eggs. He can't have them in their purest form. He can have them cooked in cakes and cookies.

If you are going to any buffets or AYCE there is no charge for a child under three. The chef will be able to either point out what he can eat and/or prepare special food for him at no cost.

At menu sevice or counter service you can have him eat off your plate; however, you might want to have one of the adults in the party order food as if they had the allergy. At menue or counter if you order something specifically for him more than likely you will have to pay for it, but at the chiold's meal prices.

My son is 5 yrs old and alos has a peanut and tree nut allergy. We have been going to Disney with him since he was 10 mos old.
At the buffet meals let them know about the allergy and the chef will come out and talk to you and let you know all the safe food.
But from what I have seen there was nothing at the buffets that my son couldn't eat, except for the pastries.

As far as sit down meals when my son was younger he ate off my plate, I told them about the allergy and the chef came out and talk me though ordering letting me know what was safe. They would not bring any unsafe food to the table, I was never charged more, for my meal or when we bought him a meal.
Stay away from Wolf Gang Puck's on the West side they use peanut/peanut oil in just about everything.
The bread sticks at Lecelliar in Canda is not safe too. No bread/rolls that are brought to the table service resturants are safe.

i am still fairly new to all of this because my son was just diagnosed a few months ago, but i will share some great tips that were given to me when i posted with similar questions before our trip in February.

contact Brenda Bennett: Brenda.Bennett@disney.com and ask her for info about what may be safe/dangerous for your ds. i emailed her before our trip in February and she sent me a few different lists of "safe snacks" and some definite things to avoid. it is not a complete listing of all disney foods, but at least you get a general idea.

Disney is definitely very accommodating. we only ate at one buffet and the rest at counter service. at the counter service i would ask the cashier when ordering or speak to someone like a manager to make sure i was ordering something that was safe. at the buffet, a chef came out and walked me through the buffet to let me know what was safe and what was not.

as far as paying, it is like others have said. it is pretty much the same rule for anyone under 3, if you eat off of your parent's plate it is free but if you order them a meal you pay. as a parent we would have to order something allergy free to share with the child at a counter service/sit down restaurant or order them something for themselves and pay a kids meal price.

do a search on "food allergy" on this site and there will be lots of posts with trip reports and more advice. this site has lots of people who have lots of great info to share :thumbsup2

best wishes with your trip! :wizard:
