We've got Post Disneyland Depression over here. We got back from our first trip a week ago (me, DH, dd4 and ds1.5). I'm having trouble starting my days without a ride down Splash Mountain--dd got me obsessed. It's too quiet around here, all the songs are in our heads non-stop, we're watching rides on Youtube, baby keeps chanting for "maw-maw-woa, maw-maw-woa" (small small world) and "pooh beah" like we can jump in line any time we want. Even dh said sadly, "I want to go back to Disneyland...", which I never would have predicted. I haven't carelessly pulled out the credit card in a week, it's getting lonely. I miss the smells, the sounds, the marketing, the over-the-top happy happy, everything! We're hooked and can't wait to go back!

Time to start planning the next trip!

We literally began discussions for our trip coming up next month a year beforehand...in the airport terminal waiting to board our plane home from the last trip.

The planning is almost as much fun as the doing.

It took two trips to hook me. Our first trip was during spring break, the parks were crazy-busy, my sons were 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 at the time, and I was really worn out by the end of our 3 days during which we tried to pack too much in. On the way home, I announced that I would surely be fine if we never went back to Disneyland again. Fast forward one year. DH wants to give it another try, and I agree, figuring once a year won't be so bad. We go in March a couple weeks before Easter to avoid the real crush but to still get the nice weather and longer park hours. We do 5 days this time and have a blast! During the drive home, I spend the whole time planning our next trip. We went back that December and bought APs. Our sons are 9 and 11 now, and we've been a total of 20 times so far, most of them during peak season since now that we're hooked (and know how to navigate the parks) any time of the year seems like a good time to go to Disneyland. Can't get enough. The only thing that makes leaving less sad is planning our return.

I feel your pain. The problem we have is that we are 14 hours away by plane.
We have been twice in the last 2 years & have another trip planned for Xmas next year.
Like the other posters have said start planning another trip, so you can freely talk about DL again!
I also have a photo wall in my lounge room full of DL photos. It makes me smile whenever I look at it.

You sound just like me after leaving Disneyland! It has that effect on people...
I'm affected for a good week or 2 after getting home. Like other posters said, start planning your next trip. That way you will get excited and look forward to returning. It works for me :)

But I do pretty much the same stuff you mentioned, I YouTube videos of random people meeting characters & other random DLR moments, Disney music all day long, look at my photos 100 times a day...
I just hate the final walk out of the park on the last night of the trip... I always feel like I have unfinished business at the parks and need extra time! :rotfl2:
Glad to hear your whole family had a great time though! You must return soon!

We have 2 favorite places to visit, Disneyland, and Las Vegas. In the last 2 years we have been to DL 3 times and LV 3 times, with our 4th DL trip in 5 Days. My problem is that no one other then my wife and kids like DL and can’t seam to figure out why we would want to go so offten:confused3. Its getting to that point where we don’t tell anyone were going any more because all we ever hear is “Again??? I wish I had your money I would burn it.” Kind of brings the spirit down a little :sad1:but DL is worth it. They stopped saying that about LV since the last 3 trips to LV we have retuned with Thousands more then we went with :goodvibes got to love craps.

OP I feel your pain!

On our last DLR trip we knew that it would be over a year before we saw a Disney park again, and it's HARD. This time last year we were staying at the Grand (not my fave hotel, it turns out), having probably our BEST trip (finally got all the little communication things ironed out)...sigh.

It won't be until Nov 30th until we get to a Disney park, and that's DisneyWORLD, waaaaaaaah. I miss Disneyland!

On relatively chilly mornings, if we get out and about early enough, DS and I will say "it feels like Disneyland" b/c we strive to get to the gates well before park opening, and it's usually kind of brisk and foggy. In the evenings sometimes the air feels like the air when you're waiting for fireworks. etc.

At some point in the last couple trips, while at home, I developed the ability to pretend like I was getting in line for a ride, or walking along somewhere in DLR...made me feel a little bit better.

I guess if we were avid mountain climbers, we'd feel the same between hikes. And, actually, sometimes the morning air reminds me of camping, and I miss that, too! It's not JUST Disney. :)

Hopefully after our WDW trip, which I'm sure will be amazing, we'll be able to get back to DLR relatively soon. I almost made our coming-home tickets go through southern CA, with a few days layover, but that would really be pushing the limits with hubby's work. Then we went and decided to go home on a Friday, so that he could have all weekend to recover, and THEN he took off Monday! 3 days sitting at home when we COULD have been exhausting ourselves even more at Disneyland...oh the tragedy. :upsidedow

Anyway, I feel your pain.

Sounds like your next trip will see an AP purchase...

I feel your pain. Our APs expired in September and after 4 trips last year we currently have NO trips to Anaheim planned!!! 2 of DHs friends are heading to DLR this week and I'm extremely jealous. We do have a trip to WDW booked for next fall, but I don't know I'll survive 15 months without the smell of POTC????
