Just a heads up that DCL has notified us that the remaining staterooms we have held in our group space for PCC 2.0 (12/12/2010) will be taken back on Thursday 9/2/10.

What this means is that after Thursday if you want to book the podcast cruise it will no longer be at the lowest tier pricing possible.

It looks like first and second person prices have increased by $40 to $60 per person over what we have held. This is based on stateroom category, and it looks like children pricing has not increased.

So, if you are thinking about PCC 2.0 now is the time to committ. After Thursday you will be paying more for this cruise.

Pricing can be found here https://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/cruise/podcast-cruise-pricing.cfm

Just out of curiousity - is this the first price increase since PCC 2.0 was announced?

When many of us signed up a long time ago, there was sort of a "sign up now before price goes up" warning. I know that any price increase would be set by DCL and the DIS would not know when it would happen.

What is the usual rate for increases as the sail date grows closer? Is there a "usual"?

The price of this cruise has gone up slightly over the entire time since it has been announced that we it will be the date for PCC 2.0.

Since Dreams held group space at the lowest price/tier level anyone who booked with us was not subject to that price increase.

Once we give back our unused group space all new bookings will be at the current tier pricing, which is higher than what we have it for in the group space.

I can't answer the "usual" increase question as it has to do with how full the ship is rather than proximity of sail date.

So does this mean you can make an educated guess about the number or percentage of poor folks who will be sailing with us and didn't book through DU?
