Our first choice resort is always Poly, but love both of these resorts too. Will likely add-on (75-125) at only one of these but would love thoughts on which one would be better. Just bought 100 at SSR (August UY). Thanks!

Poly (our fav resort)
Location, beach/pool fireworks, theming, dining
Close to MK
Transport options
DON'T LIKE - Annual Dues being high already; only studios

BLT
Location and theme park view
Transportation Options
Close to MK
DON'T LIKE - Theming

BCV
F&W location
Stormalong Bay
Location to 2 parks
DON'T LIKE - Contract ends sooner 2042

Have you stayed in each of the DVC resorts and experienced the rooms and category that you would typically stay in? You might find that living there is different than looking at pictures.

It took us several stays at each resort before we really made up our minds.

Yes, we've stayed at all three. Like BLT the least in term of theming but love the theme park view, some of the restaurants, and walk to MK.

You've listed the pros and cons you have for each resort but what about the financial part of the purchase? And at Poly - are studios ok? Because that's it for most people. And you don't want to buy there to use elsewhere most of the time. BCV - can't change the end date - at least not unless they offer an extension and until that's announced it's nothing to count on. BLT might be a good compromise. A longer end date with a good location. It's resale price is approx 1/3 to 1/4 less than PVB direct and it wouldn't be bad to trade with those points into PVB at 7 months if it's available. Question is - how much do you dislike the theming and will you truly be happy not staying at PVB if you couldn't get in there?

Finally, will you be booking during your home resort priority? If not, then it doesn't matter where you own..

You need to look at the MK resorts and pick one, then the Epcot/DHS resorts and pick one. Then add on later when you can afford it.

We use VGF and VWL for MK stays alternating every other year and BWV for our Epcot stays. If we are staying more than 12 nights we split stay and feel like we are taking two vacations.

You need to post more info on pros and cons, but based on your LIMITED info, I would go with the Beach Club

Here are the main issues according to your post:

Poly - no 1 or 2 bedroom options (forget the expensive bungalows) and this can't be fixed
BLT - you said you like it the least and this can't be fixed
Beach club - 2042 is a LONG time away so it is not a pressing non-fixable issue (worry about it in 27 years)

I wonder if they ever would offer an extension for BCV? When OKW extended was it rolled out to all OKW owners and how much did it cost to extend?

Would love to own both areas, but not sure which we would add first? :flower:

I really appreciate everyone thoughts and opinions. We are not usually indecisive but worried about buyer's (location) remorse. :thanks:

I would suggest PVB, get enough points for a stay every 3 years. PVB is not only a MK resort but also a EPCOT resort. While it currently only has studios, they haven't ruled out other classes long down the road. And it is the only resort that has adjoining rooms. Some think that with the number of rooms, you don't have to worry about 7 month ressies, I'm not so optimistic on that front. As more and more members come on-line it is getting harder and harder to rely on the 7 month window. So even if you don't typically make long range plans now is the time to start. Make 11 month plans and then if you want to change to something else that is available at 7 mo go for it, but at least you know you have that back-up plan that is a terrific resort. While the dues certainly aren't the lowest they also aren't the highest and could climb a little slower than the others in the near future.

If you plan on going during F&W & visiting Epcot, then BCV is a good choice. We own there and are kind of partial. The pool each summer is a must for us. We also don't like the theming of BLT but having the choice to walk or take that monorail to MK is big for us. Also, the option to take the boat for Fort Wilderness or Wilderness Lodge is a nice option especially if you plan visit around Christmas. Community Hall is a big one for us, too. BLT has one and BWV has one which is a short walk from BCV. PVB isn't a draw for us. We prefer the closed hallways and any chance of hearing noise from the boat horns makes it a complete no for us light sleepers.

Out of these BLT. If you want better theming why not VGF??

Technically not true. If rumors are true, Disney has plans to change this on their long-term horizon (after rumored WL, YC/BC, and either CBR or River County).

I would personally not rely on any rumors. Even the WL cabins could change. The current management is doing a great job at dispelling things many posted 5-10 years ago.

I must modify my recommendation as I did not see you owned SSR.

100 points at the Poly can book the Studio for several nights.

Thus, I would say NOW to buy Poly as it is your favorite resort and then use SSR to book 1-2-3 bedroom units elsewhere.

We stayed at GF and didn't love it. Prefer BLT transport/location better.

So maybe we'll look out for a 100 point BCV and try for a small PVB. What is the advantage of the Community Hall? Think that might get us the best of all worlds. Thanks for the help!

Curious if anyone knows what the minimum PBV points that can be purchased by current DVC members?

BCV is a wonderful resort, it is one that I own and enjoy staying at because of its location relative to Epcot and DHS and I bought it before Poly was available. My only hesitation in recommending it is that it is the most expensive DVC WDW resort to own at this time. Between the current purchase prices and dues the only other resort in the DVC portfolio more expensive is Vero Beach. My upcoming trip will be split between the BCV and PVB they are really both great resorts. Good Luck with your decision and search.

Minimum 25 points for current DVC members.

We own at BLT and BCV and feel you may need the 11 booking window at BCV more than BLT.

Unless you want standard views at BLT then you will need to own there.

Based on how DVC renovates the DVC resorts, I wouldn't hold theming as a reason not to buy a resort. Look what they have done to BCV. BLT couldn't be worse than that. In a few years, you won't be able to tell the difference among all the DVC resorts when you get into a villa.
