PBS and their program interruptions to beg for cash...

I almost think I would donate to PBS (not that they really need our money)
if they would quit interrupting their shows and beg for cash.

Nothing like watching a really good concert...and right in the middle of the concert...and, usually when you're really getting into the concert....they break and some local semi-celebrity tries to put you on a guilt trip about how they can't afford such programming unless you send them some cash.

I think they'd be more effective if they did the begging either before or after.

If you want to see an uninterrupted concert, buy a ticket and see it live. End of story.

So does anyone have any good recipes?

However I tend to agree that I don't enjoy pledge breaks and I wish they had a different plan. (however the concernt was good, I hope they show it again and again!) :goodvibes

Steven, in case you're wondering about the reactions, search PBS and you should come up with a recent thread (within the last few days) on this topic. I don't know how to link, or I'd do that for you.

:rolleyes1

This is the song that never ends
Yes it goes on and on my friends
Some people started singing it not knowing what it was
And they'll continue singing it forever just because...

I don't like the interruptions either but PBS needs money so they're inevitable. But that's already been covered so who cares what I think. ;)

I hate how there are so many reruns this time of year.

Why is it that they don't really need our money - I thought PBS depended on local support for much of its programming. Do you have a different type of funding for PBS where you live???

I wish they would show something in the mornings that isn't geared towards carpet creeps.

I want to know why it saves the good stuff just for during the fundraiser??!!??!! :confused3

That's a new one for me. How about crotchfruit? :rotfl2:
