PBH versus HRH. Which would you choose?

Hi!

We're in the midst of planning our Dec vacation and trying to decide between the HRH and PBH. We're a family of four - me, DH, DD (17) and DS (13). We love Italy and we love music, so either hotel would be a good fit.

Which is your favorite and why? What are the bathrooms like at the HRH?

I think you would like PBH but your kids would like HRH.

Your kids ages suggest HRH would be great! You would probably like Portofino better though. Either decision you cant go wrong. If you are going standard rooms Portofino is bigger if you are going to go for deluxe they are the same sixe at both and would allow for a bit more room for you all.

The reason we like HRH is its proximity to the parks. PBH is another ten minutes walking.

I am taking my DD14 on a first ever mom/daughter trip in June. I gave her the web address for Universal and told her to pick the hotel. She picked Portofino Bay much to my surprise. That is where I wanted to stay, but this is a special trip for her so I am letting her pick the places we stay. I think you will enjoy the trip no matter where you stay.

I did the 1st Father/Son trip to PBH on my son's 14th birthday which was our first stay on site. We were upgraded to Bay View with a balcony. It was an unforgetable trip for many reasons. I know you will have fun.

We stayed at Portofino this past Christmas and we loved it. My daughters age 14 and 12 thought it was amazing. They are still talking about the trip and how much they loved the resort. We toured the Hard Rock thinking they would love it next time but they both felt Portofino was much nicer!!! I chose the resort because I wanted to stay there but my family surprised me by loving it so much.LOL

Both hotels treat me like gold but HRH is my home away from home. I will actually be there this weekend.

Thank you so much, Everyone! We chose the PBH and decided that the next time, we'll stay at the HRH. It was the restaurants that tipped PBH in our favor...
