Hi, I originally had 3 nights booked at PBH in a Bay View room from 20 to 23 November using AAA rate. I had to call to amend my booking to just two nights 20 to 22 November and the lady I spoke to in reservations advised that the Super Saver rate was coming out cheaper than the AAA rate originally booked and so swapped my booking over. However, when I have just received my credit card statement, I have been refunded $295 which is what I paid for the original booking and have been charged $315 instead. I honestly cant remember when I spoke to reservations what she said price was, just that it was cheaper for the Super Saver rate, but it certainly does look that way from what I have been charged :confused3 . Not only that but as I am from the UK the amount I was refunded was not quite as much as I had paid due to fluctuating exchange rates. I didn't realise when she offered to change the rate to super saver it would mean a refund.

I would think it would be difficult for a business to keep up with fluctuating currency rates. :confused3 If I purchase something at a store that costs Euro and upon returning the item, the rate changes, I will still only get back that Euro amount that is on the receipt. They are not going to care about my fluctuating American dollar currency rates.

I appreciate this, my point was that I did not realise that switching from one rate to another would mean doing a refund. As the difference in the rates was only small I should have just stuck to the AAA rate. I think I need to call them back however about the fact I have been charged more for the Super Saver rate than for the AAA rate.

I tend to tell them not to refund since that is the policy. Supersaver rate doesn't usually apply for a 2 day stay, so I am surprised it was even offered.
