PBH in early October?

Hi All

Does anyone know why the Portofino is totally booked for early October? I thought this was a relatively slow time of the year but when I called to try and get a room for 10/2-10/7 I was told there were none available.

As of a minute ago, hotelkingdom was showing availability for the PBH for 10/2-10/7. This may be because HK has a block of rooms for those dates. I am not sure how all of this works. I would guess that if HK does not fill the rooms, they will release them back to the hotel at some point.

BTW the HK rate was $284/night. I think that was for a standard room.

I just booked for 10/23-10/27 and they said its very busy due to HHN. I could only get club level at PBH thru Universal's site. But i looked on travelocity and they had cheaper rooms available. So you might check other booking sites.

October is always slammed at the on-site hotels. HHN brings in big crowds. Keep checking though. Rooms open up all the time but discounts are hard to come by. Sometimes if minimum stay requirements arent met the hotels will come up as sold out when in fact there are rooms available.

Gee I thought it was supposed to be a slow time of year. Oh well...

Oh and IMGONNABE40! thanks for the hotelkingdom tip! I'll probably book through them as nothing is available through the Universal website.
