Hi again, sorry bout last post, did not see it was in the same thread, hey I'm on a tight budget due to I picked this hotel over the royal for the larger size rooms, 4 of us going in june, anyway did not want to spend the $$ for a refrig thought I would just use the mimi bar, but I have seen some treads that say you will be charged daily if you take there stuff out and put your stuff in or even it you cut the cord to open it or somthing like that. Is this true???????????? And if so does anyone know of a place near by that you can buy like a throw out cooler for keeping pop and or milk cold with frequent ice machine trips. Will be flying in so can not bring one with me and will not want to take one back either. Thanks

I'm not sure how Loews does it...all I know is that one trip to RPR I opened the minifridge, drank a soda, and the next morning it was on my bill for checkout. Keep in mind, we never left the room and it was on the bill that was hanging on my door the next morning. I'm sure it's a sensor or something but it did make me slightly uneasy.

Don't bother with the minbar. I do not think it gets that cold and the space is very limited anyway. If you have a car, I would go to a store and buy a cheap styrofoam cooler and drinks. Fill the cooler up with ice at the hotel. We did this one year at the HRH on advice from this forum. There were a lot of stores/liquor stores on Kirkman Highway which is the exit we get off of I-4 for Universal. We went straight on Kirkman instead of turning left onto Major Blvd. I'm sure someone out there has much better directions.

The mini bars in the hotel rooms do not keep things cold like it would at your home.

all it does is keep the items in it, cool, and that is stretching it.

get a styrofoam ice chest at the local stores near the hotel.

use the ice machine on your floor to fill it as needed.

keep the ice chest in your bathtub when you are out of your room and at the park/city walk/whatever.
