PB&J Question

My DS4 survives largely on chicken nuggets and peanut butter sandwiches. He does NOT like jelly. On the kids menus for many CS and TS restaurants, I see PB&J. Do all Disney restaurants serve those nasty Uncrustables? Or will someplace (especially table service, such as Spoodles) be able to make my son a peanut butter sandwich w/o jelly?

Thanks!

I know we got just a PB sandwich at CR a couple of years ago, and they didn't even have it on the menu! Blame a loud nephew and a VERY considerate and understanding waiter, the guy was a saint. :rotfl2: I think the TS's in particular are very understanding of picky eaters and as long as the request is reasonable, will do their best to honor it.

Thanks! I expect that most counter service sandwiches would be the uncrustables, since they service a large quantity of people very quickly. But I'm hoping that table service restaurants, if they have PB&J on the kids menu, can make just a PB.

Many of the kitchens strive to be peanut free due to peanut allergies which is partly why the Uncrustables are now used. This way, the peanut butter is never handled in the kitchen.

You will just have to ask each restaurant if they have anything they can make in the back or bring your own with you. =)

Not sure if this will work as a solution for you... but if you find that Uncrustables are the only type of PB&J served in the parks, you can buy 2 slices of bread at your hotel's food court in the morning, and they should have the little single packets of PB in the condiment section with all the jelly, honey, salt, pepper, etc.

I think some food courts may sell loaves of bread as well (and they are accepted as a snack credit).

All of the table service restaurants we went to served uncrustables. Dniece didn't like the uncrustables so we learned to ask before ordering. She ate a lot of grilled cheese and chicken nuggets as the uncrustables were not an option she would eat

At Earl's in DTD they make the PB&J sandwiches fresh on the spot. They are toasted so the PB gets nice and oozy! YUMMY! It would be no problem to order one there minus the J.

Thanks for all of the help! It really helps as I look at the kids' menus for the places where we're planning to eat.

is ds picky about his bread as well? (my ds will only eat certain "looking" bread) if not, you could easily pick up a few packets of pb at your resort food court (i believe they are free in the condiment section) and then make his sandwiches at any restaurant just by ordering him some bread or using the bread that comes w/your meal... my ds would gladly eat a jelly sandwich on a hamburger or hot dog roll (but not on a piece of rye or pumpernickle) so maybe that's an option for your ds and his pb?
