I get a spoof email about "Paypal" or "eBay" at least daily telling me that my account has been suspended, etc. Just want to remind everybody to NOT CLICK ON THESE LINKS and DO NOT PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION. If you have questions, open up eBay or Paypal in a new Internet Explorer window and log in to the site directly.

I bring this up because I got a cute one today. Sometimes these emails have typos or you can tell they were written by someone who does not use English as their primary language. Here is part of one I got today:

"We recently have determined that different computers have logged into your PayPal account, and multiple password failures were present before the login. One of our Customer Service employees has already tryed to telephonically reach you. "

They "tryed" to "telephonically" reach me???

There is always a word misspelled intentionally in scam emails. Usually it's attention, spelled attntion or something like that. Anything to try to overcome any spam blocker you might have.

I recieved this one....

Subject: Payment sent to LUXURYWATCHESINC - $190.85 USD From your credit card
From: service@paypal.com

Then they wanted me to click on the link below , i forward it to spoof and got a repy prompt and was told it was a scam

A few months ago I got a legitimate "problem" e-mail from PayPal. It stated that my backup credit card had expired. There were three things that let me realize it was legitimate.

1. It addressed me by name in the body of the mail, not my e-mail address.

2. It did correctly give the last four digits of my credit card number.

3. Most Important was it did not have any links in the e-mail, but told me to log into PayPal as I normally would and then go to update profile.

They were right, my credit card had expired and I had forgotten to update the information which I did by only changing the year.

OMG - I got the SAME thing today!!!! I was going crazy!! I forwarded it to spoof and called my debit card and credit card company. I knew not to click on anything or give them any info. The cc company (disney visa) told me I should report the card lost/stolen and get a new card. I said OK, and the new card should be here in 7 business days - I hope it's hear sooner, we're leaving for WDW next weekend. I was so mad, I can't believe these people. I have been buying stuff over the internet for years, and I've never had anything like this happen to me.

You can also go to your myeBay and all mail sent to you will be listed there.
