I keep getting a page that says Paypal: abort
unusual for their site to be down for more than a day..I can't find any announcements on the ebay board about any problems with it either..hopefully they will have it fixed soon!

I tried to make a payment this morning, went through the whole process, hit the send button and got an error message. It gave me the option to try again or log out and I pressed "Try again" and I got the "You have made a payment..." message on the next screen, so apparently it went through.

Yesterday I couldn't get on at all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I got one of those stupid fake paypal emails saying my email address had been changed, click here to verify blah blah blah. Ya, right....like I'm gonna do that!

Than I go to sign in (thru my own link) and I can't! LOL

Made me start to wonder.........

Just a word of warning about PayPal ~ STOP using them immediately! I quit using PayPal about 2 years ago after having unauthorized charges against my account occure. Then a co-worker of mine had a major problem ($5,000+) with someone making unauthorized charges against his account. He has most of it all straightened out, but this has taken him months to do.

There is a class action suit out against PayPal at the moment ~ I could not find the article right off hand, but will try and post it tomorrow.

Even though it is supposed to be a *secure* sight, there is a problem and for your own safety do not use it anymore. Most buyers/sellers on Ebay are very understanding when you tell them you won't use PayPal. I know it costs about $1 to pay by money orders, to pay for the stamp and buy the money order ~ but it is so much worth it in the long run!

Did more than $50K of business with them in the past 2 years, never had any problem until this moment (andf it's a server-related issue).

PayPal IS the preffered method of payment on eBay. I have yet to find a single seller who refuses PayPal during all the times I browse for items I need.

Money order is taking too long if you're selling multiple items everyday. It's the difference of making the sale or nothing at all for ALL power sellers. (There is not a single power-seller who is not accepting PayPal).

Actually that is inaccurate. Money orders vary widely in cost. Around here postal money orders are around $3.50 depending on where they are being sent. Cashier's cheques vary depending on the origin.

If we're talking about money order sent from Canada, it means anywhere from $0 (if you have that special account where you pay US$10 a month) plus about US$1 for the stamp and envelope to about US$5 plus about US$4 for registered mail to the US.

At the rate of 40 purchases a year, my cost will be US$160 plus additional (total of) 400 business days (average of 10 business days for the mail to arrive to the seller and for the money order to be cleared, not to mention an additional day or two contacting the seller asking for exception).
