Hi,

Want to go to WDW again in Dec 06

Now I wonder what will happen if I make a reservation (room only) and make some down payments when we get some extra money.

What will happen if I switch to BRP later (already got one voucher :cheer2: ) as AFAIK there are no downpayments allowed.

Will Disney sent my money back? How will it work if I payed from different CC?

If you had asked that question last year for this year, you would have gotten an answer that would be like.. no problem, they will apply the AP rate. Now with this BPR program, one never knows what will happen. People are being charged $50 to apply a different code if it decreased what the original rate was. The BPR may not even be in effect by next year... I for one wouldn't count on anything yet. If you are thinking of going next December & want to pay off a little at a time to make life easier for you, I would open a seperate bank account with the one night deposite. Each time you have extra money, put it in the account. Not that interest is that great but you will make something off of it. Then say maybe in July, start looking for what is happening (or being announced) for Dec 06. You may have a good answer by then... hope this has helped you :sunny:

I was just wondering the same thing myself!

Great minds think alike!

Perhaps I did not made it clear.
I´m thinking of booking a "regular" room now (or at least when DH is able to fix the dates for vacation) pay the deposite and some extra money on this reservation.
Then when the time is for the BRP or a code I would cancel the first reservation.....AFAIK there will be no fees.....and book new.

I would like to know how the long it would take to get the money from the first reservation back and how it will work when the downpayment was made from different CC. Might be an ugly question but these things are really unsual here at Germany so I wonder how it would work.

I did understand you ( but you said "switch" so I figured you were just switching to that rate), what I was saying is that Disney has been changing it's policy's. You can book a regular room & always just cancel it out if a code (or better rate) comes out (just as long as you are within your cancelation period), but do not expect Disney to apply the discount for you, they may end up charging you a modification fee. Disney cannot transfer funds from one ressie to another. They use to do that but the last time I tried that they told me they couldn't do it. They would have to credit you back your money & you would have to pay them again. When paying & refunding by a credit card, they tell you it can take up to 3 billing cycles, but I have never seen that happen, it usually appears on my next statement (unless near my cut off date) If you paid them by check, it may take 10 business days for them to send you back your refund. To answer the part of a different credit card, what ever card you used to pay (any payments made) will be credited back to the card use. So if you used 2 or 3 different cards to pay, you will get each of them credited back the amout you charged on them... did this help you better.....

Thanks for that reply.
I thought it would be a good idea to make some downpayments, but if it might take longer than 60 days to get the money back it would be better to put the money in a saving account and not try to use it :cool1:
