Greetings all!
I need a refresher on a payment situation. Usually we stay at WDW by renting DVC points, but not this time. Help me, Oh Great DISers!
We are on the Disney Magic cruise Jan. 26-Feb 2. We will come in the night before, as to not tempt Indiana Winter Weather Gods! Typically we would just stay at a moderate to save $ and have the benefit of the cruise transportation from resort. However, a little thing happened a few weeks ago.
My D-BFF had nothing to do and there was nothing on TV. I scolled through my TiVo and remembered the Travel Channel Great Hotels for WL was on there. I had seen them all except that one. I thought it would be a great way to waste time. Besides D-BFF refuses to watch the YC/BC one again because I have it memorized.
Now keep in mind, D-BFF loves all big, dark brown, mission-style decor. As soon as the show panned the WL lobby, she nearly lept off the couch and proclaimed, "Why have I never been there before?!!!"
It was at that point I got the idea to surprise her (B-Day is this week) by reserving WL for our night prior cruise.
However, here's the issue. I'm pretty sure resort-only discounts will be announced within the next month. So here's the question:
IF I reserve WL NOW and a discount comes out, can I get the lower rate. I think the answer is yes. However, keep in mind #1 I want to pay part of it with DIsney Visa Rewards points and #2 a one night reservation requires full payment up front. So would Disney refund my credit card the difference?
