We are within 30 days and I am getting the "your balance is past due" emails. My stay starts on July 18th, so within 30 days, but after the June 22-July 10th period that you can currently modify. I need to modify the tickets on the reservation - either take them out or reduce them.
1. Has anyone arriving after the opening had their reservation cancelled before you were given a chance to modify? The website says reservations will be cancelled within 7 days, but I'm not sure if that is only for the June 22-July 10 period, or also applies to July 11th+. Clear as mud.
2. If I decide to pay the balance, would making this payment affect in any way the ability to remove aspects of the reservation (such as removing tickets, shortening tickets, etc.) since it would happen after I have paid in full?
This is what it says in Resort Updates:
"If no action is taken for impacted stays, Disney will automatically cancel your reservation within 7 days of the original check-in date and process any refund due to the original form of payment. Please note that cancellation fees imposed by third-party suppliers, including airlines and rental cars, as well as non-refundable products like travel protection plans, are deducted from refundable amounts for Walt Disney Travel Company packages."
