When I went online to book my reservation for CRT, it came up that I had to pay for it up front. I'm not familiar with this, is this new? I know at Akershus, I had to reserve with my credit card, but with this, it gave me the total that was due. We are having the Disney Dining Plan, so how would this work with that? I know that it does take up 2 table services, but I wasn't aware that I had to pay up front for it?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...thanks! :)princess:

I've heard this is a glitch with the online booking system. If you book online it looks for a credit card that way. If you book over the phone, they will take your credit card number just as a hold for the reservation and there will be no fee.

Don't book CRT online if you are using DDP credits. Call Disney Dining and tell them you are using the Disney Dining Plan. They should only put a hold on it over the phone.

All the online bookings seem to charge your card. When this occurred to others, they were able to apply the DDP credits and get the credit charges reversed at the restaurant. I'd have a copy of the payment with me to show cast members if needed.

This happened to me and I called a CM at Disney to make a reservation over the phone.

Actually, my card was already charged the fee to have lunch for our december trip.....:confused3

We booked a reservation online for November for 6 guests. There are 4 of us on the dining plan and 2 not. We only provided a credit card number to hold the reservation. The card has not been charged. We did link the dining reservation to our vacation reservation number - not sure if this makes a difference. In the past we have not had the dining plan and on both occasions we paid upfront.

If you're not using the Disney Dining Plan, you would be paying up front for Cinderella's Royal Table. All the other comments were directed specifically about problems people were having trying to apply their DDP reservations as a substitute "hold" for the credit card charge.

You were supposed to be charged at the time of the reservation otherwise.
