Paying Property Taxes with Disney Visa?

Has anyone used their Disney Visa to pay property taxes to their county? I got the bonus 4% offer on my Disney visa for utilities and insurance and am not sure how county property taxes would be coded. With only 1% I would barely come out ahead after paying the fees to pay with cc but if it would count in the bonus category it would be a nice bonus card for our trip!!

Our town will not accept a credit card. I ask each year in case it changes.

Mine accepts credit card payment through govpaynow.com and does charge fees but if I got 4% in rewards it would be well worth it to us!

Just received a response from govpaynow.com stating that they are a 3rd party collector and even if you are making a utility or insurance payment it will not code that way with Visa because they are the company collecting the actual charges. Anyone pay the property taxes with credit cards or have any advice--it is my New Years resolution to look into very easy ways we are missing out on extra money and rewards!! lol

Our town accepts credit but adds nearly 3% to the cost, offsetting any reward we would receive.
Same here.
They also charge $5 for an e-check. THAT, I don't get.
I sent them an old fashioned check, only cost me 47 cents for the stamp.

I checked into this also. We get charged a feee - not worth it.
But - I received this offer also more than a month ago and signed up for it - today, I receive the offer again (same dates April to August) asking us to sign up.............

We pay property tax to both the county and the city in which we live. The city accepts credit cards and does not charge a fee for doing so. There I use my Disney Visa. The county accepts cc but charges a 4% fee, which is larger than my 1% reward. Therefore I send them a check.

I pay my home owners and car insurances with my credit card. Taxes can only be paid via EFT, MO or personal checks here.

I've never received a special offer on my Disney Visa and I'm a 'Day 1' customer who used to spend $2,000-$3,000 per month on the card for years. I guess they figured they didn't need to encourage us to spend money on it. We switched to another couple of cards about a year ago and I was hoping to see some offers roll in ... but nada.

I haven't received any offers either and received a notice from Chase the account was being closed as of yesterday due to lack of activity. It's been probably 2 years since we used the Disney card. Our only use was the free photo at Disney World. We have better rewards elsewhere.

Most government agencies that I know of who take credit cards, charge a convenience fee of 4%. I wouldn't bother.

Our town opened up credit card payments with no fee attached last year. I believe it lasted two quarters, I don't think they anticipated how many people would utilize this option. It was very nice while it lasted. You paid in person at the tax office so it was not a 3rd party collector.

Even if this wasn't the case, your property taxes wouldn't be considered a utility or an insurance payment.
