Paying out of pocket, which meal?

Here are the restaurants that we will be visiting during our upcoming November Trip. We purchased the dining plan.

I know we will have to pay OOP of Rainforest Cafe, but I still have one too many, which would be the cheapest one to pay for OOP? Any idea's? I am estimating Chef Mickeys.

1) Mama Melrose (D)
2) Concourse Steakhouse (D)
3) Crystal Palace (D)
4) Rainforest Cafe (D)
5) 1900 Park Fair (D)
6) Coral Reef (L)
7) Akershus (D)
8) Liberty Tree Tavern (D)
9) Chef Mickeys (B)

ALSO, I thought I read somewhere that AK Park may be opening up another table service restaurant. Any idea of this is correct?

Yeah, Chef Mickey's. Fixed price, so you don't have to worry about being careful what you order to avoid wallet-shock after the meal. Crystal Palace and Akershus are one-price meals too, but breakfast at CM's should be less costly than dinner at either of these.

I know it isn't on your list but the first one I would do OOP would be Sci-Fi cause I have never been there

All of the ones on my list are new from last year too except for CP, so I am super excited too!

I'd really like to try Sci-Fi but I heard that it only seats 4? We have 6:confused:

The cars seat four or six, but in rows of two and you're behind each other (if that makes sense) not facing each other. Probably wouldn't work with your family :teeth:
BUT - Sci-Fi also has picnic tables. You can request one of those, and given your kids' ages, I don't think that'll be a problem. If you do decide to eat there, yes, that's another meal you would at least consider paying for OOP.

Check out this thread for loads of info on best use of credits.

Remember, though, that the charts, etc. are for all things being equal. Meaning that the value per credit, for example, is for appetizer, entree, and dessert. If you're paying OOP, you may not be ordering all 3. You might consider sharing a few meals (non-buffet). We've found that this works well for us as we find it hard to eat dessert after having appetizers and entree (each). We usually end up taking our desserts back to our room. This always leaves out getting anything will ice cream :sad2:

Hope this helps, Happy Dining!

Thanks everyone!

Cool! Any idea what the projected '2007' opening month will be?

Here's a quote from allears.net: :thumbsup2

The new restaurant currently under construction in Animal Kingdom's Asia will be named Yak and Yeti. To fit in with Anandapur, the fictional village that is home to Expedition Everest, the restaurant will be themed as a rural village in the Himalayan foothills. The pan-Asian establishment will house both a table service restaurant that seats 300 and a quick-service eatery that can hold 200 customers. The restaurant was announced in February 2006, and is set to open October 8th.

I would pay OOP for Crystal Palace. Its a very nice buffet but compared with the meal at Spoodles or Coral reef for the same credit its sub par. MHO.:coffee:
