The bottom of my reservation confirmation is a little tear-off section where I can send in a check or pay by credit card. If I send in a partial payment on my reservation, will Disney send me a new confirmation? Do some people pay their bill off little by little? I hate the idea of throwing everything on my credit card when I arrive.

Hi Carla ~

I always pay mine off bit by bit before I get there. They won't send you a new confirmation automatically with each payment, but I've never had trouble getting one when I requested it.

Hope this helps!

I have always paid for mine bit by bit. But, only once was with WDW directly. The other times were with Dreams Unlimited.

I've paid for mine little by little too. What I did was photocopy my confirmation sheet a bunch of times before I tore off the bottom, and then just included a photocopy with each payment. I've never had any problems doing it this way. The only time you'll get another confirmation sheet is if your reservation changes or if you call and ask them to send you an updated one.

It's such a great feeling to get the hotel or package paid off before you go!

Request a new statement when you send your money or keep the address. It is a nice feeling to get there knowing you just have the expenses of the stay! That is what is so nice about booking early.

This is something we always do.
It is so nice to get there knowing it is all paid for and you won't be getting a bill when you get home.
I know it is not a standard thing for them to automatically send a new confirmation. But we have always gotten a new one with each payment.
Don't know why we did and no one else that posted here???
If you don't, then after about 10 days when you mailed the payment, call and verify that it has been received.
When it gets close to the date of arrival, I usually call down there just to verify the amount anyway.!! Better safe than sorry. And I always get a name of a CM. I know there names are made up, but they have a way to track them.

Since I am heading for the World for 16 days in September, I'm going to start making payments each month. I'm planning on paying $50 more than the normal room rate, which I got a great AP rate on. This way, not only will both resort rooms be paid in full, but I will have money on both accounts to help pay for food and souvies!! This way I won't have to be scrambling for cash when my vacation comes. This will also keep me from overspending since whatever is on the accounts is all that will be spent. This allows me to go credit card free, so I won't have to come up with a ton of money afterwards.

I/we have paid little at a time, It was easier for us that way since we had two parties involved. I paid in three installments and my brother paid in a few insatllments. There are four people total, and we didn't have to have one person pay for the whole trip on 1 CC. I only received confirmations twice and I can't wait....... we all are excited 40 more days

I also paid for my trip a little at a time. We are going in December and the trip is totally paid for. I just wrote the reservation number on my checks. A couple of times, I actually got new confirmations. I plan on double checking everything before about 2 months in advance.

Can i take it from these posts that you can pay more than your accomadation costs in advance as a way of saving for food ect? I know they get the interest instead of you but at least i know my spending money is there ready.

is this correct?

I am not sure about what you mean but you can send a little more to your credit card, I suppose. I meant that you can make a reservation early enough and pay off the cost of your room before you check in.

Sorry Wanda i didnt explain that well at all. I mean can you pay Disney more then the cost of your accomadation so that your Key to the world card is in credit for your spending money. Does that make sence?

I have one credit card that will let me keep a "credit balance" on it as long as I charge something once every 30-45 days. So, I charge gas or soemthing once a month, but pay extra every month. By the time I go to WDW, I usually have close to $800 or so....which becomes spending money.

I have a different system whereby I put back a little bit along for our Disney trips. Each week on payday I deduct a set amount from my checkbook earmarked "Disney". I do not touch this money all year just as if it were not even there. Then when it gets close to our trip, I send Disney a check marked "paid in full" for our reservation. I would rather hold on to my money as long as possible rather than let Disney hold it. They don't need it as badly on their bank balance as I do! LOL!

I'm putting money in my credit union account every week. I'd rather earn interest on my money than give it to Disney (thru AAA) before I have to. The only way I can get money out of my account is to call and ask for a check. No ATM card, so I'm not tempted by my account balance.
