Paying off your trip monthly.

I do it this way. We have been booking a bounce back offer before our trip is over. We pay the 200.00 deposit. Right after christmas I start making 50.00 or more a week payments. I love doing it this way no credit card debt to worry about. Plus we may even upgrade our hotel to either AKL or WL this year since we will have it paid off before we leave.

This is an older story. We were supposed to leave for Disney on 9/13/01. After the attacks on 9/11, I called down and cancelled the reservation. They said that I would have to pay a $100 fee, which I agreed to and the trip was refunded.

We decided to go back to WDW in the summer of 2002, so I called to make the reservation. As usual they asked if we had been there before, and I explained that we had been, and that we tried to go in Sept but didn't because of the attacks. She put me on hold then came back and said that the $100 fee I was charged would be credited as a payment to the vacation I was trying to book. I'm sure that it was a special exception to their fee rule, but still it was nice of them to do it.

After its booked you can make any payments you want... thats what we did... worked out great!!!

Nope. I was 6 months pregnant when I was supposed to go to Disney in 08 for Christmas. Everything was paid in full when I booked it. I started having early contractions & my dr said I could not leave. When I called Disney, they said that since it was 2 weeks from my arrival date, they would not refund me the money. This was over $2000! I explained my situation & they said after 45 days nothing is refundable. I cried for days.

Was this a package?

I believe so as long as it is more than 45 days out. After that there are fees.

Thank you!

So sorry to hear that

As others have mentioned depending on what you have booked (package or room only) and how far out you cancel, they will refund you your money less possible cancelation fees.
Please remember if you pay on your reservation using Disney Gift Cards be sure to keep the gift card! If you have to cancel Disney will ONLY return the money to the actual gift card used to pay.

Right now I have a room only ressie. Thanks for the tip about the gift cards - that's good to know.
