paying off a trip
I'm booking a last minute trip for the last week in March. I will book it this week. However, it seems the trip needs to be paid 45 days in advance which is only 4 weeks away. That's a little too soon as I will be using income tax refund and a few other things to pay for it. Is there an alternate to paying so early?
I am doing the package plus dining. Can I book the room and add the package and meals closer to the date and then just pay for them?

Can you put it on a credit card then pay it off as soon as you get your tax refund? I am sure you have to book the room with the dining package. You could book a room only then change to a package if they still are available. We always book everything separately anyway. Did you price it both ways?

well you could book it without the dining and then add it on
I think you can add dining up tp 6 days before check in

I once broke my trip down to room only... then when I had the money changed it back to add tickets and dining and paid for it then. It worked out the best for me!

Can you do this and still take advantage of the any codes available for packages?

At the time you try to add the code to your reservation, there may not be any rooms available with that code. That is the risk you would take by first doing a room only and then trying to change later. If rooms are available with the code you want, then you could change it. But I believe that your room only reservation would be cancelled, all money credited to you and then you have to pay for the new reservation. If you are close to check in you would probably have to pay the full thing.

I believe that you are correct. There is no advantage to booking a room only reservation now if you are absolutely certain that you want Disney Dining. A room only reservation can not be converted into a Disney vacation package. It must be cancelled (i.e. money refunded) and then rebooked. If there are no rooms left for a package then you will be out of luck.
As a previous poster mentioned, you are best to book the cheapest package now and then upgrade it when you get your income tax refund. I would book a package without dining and with only a one day base ticket. You can add dining and upgrade your tickets closer to your vacation. Good Luck!

That's the kind of option I was looking for. I may be able to pay it off earlier anyway. Also, going at Easter I have no codes now but I'm hoping they may come in later.
