paying off a package

Can you make payments over time on a package that includes room, tickets and dining? Would love to have the entire trip paid for in advance. I have always booked everything myself, searching for codes and looking for the best prices on cars, room etc. However, the dining option REALLY looks good to us, and is only available on packages.

You can send payments in as often as you like, but the whole thing has to be paid in full 45 days before your arrival date.

I've always booked through DU and paid off in advance - but by choice, and as far ahead of time as possible. I'm not sure what requirements exist regarding how far in advance a package must be paid through DU.

I have never used either of these TA's, so I don't know how their policy on sending in payments, but I can tell you that either way, Disney has to receive full payment 45 days prior to your arrival date.

This is what I am going to do....book a room only reservation, then change it to a package closer to my dates. I can start putting my money in an interest bearing savings account (like ING) and take it out when I need it. This way too, if something comes up, and I need to change my dates, or whatever, I am able to cancel or move my room reservation, whereas packages are not refundable unless you get the trip insurance.

If you book a room only ressie with a discount code, can you change it closer to your dates, adding park tickets and the dining option, and still keep the better room rate?

Sorry, but from everything I have read, you have to pay rack rate to get the package deal with tickets and dining. The only exception to this is if you book your package through AAA (assuming you are a member), you get a discount on the room portion of your package, and the tickets and dining portion will not be discounted. In order to do that though, you have to go through a AAA travel agent ONLY.

DU has an online form that you can use for deposits, interim payments, and anything else that needs a credit card to hold.
