Paying MF with Gift Card

I have a disney rewards card with enough money to my MF on new contract. Is a gift card acceptable to pay the MF? I have to use the rewards by Nov. and don't plan another trip to Disney so I really want to get the money used up. Weird to even say that

Lisa, I just did it and see put in the entire amount so that I don't need to worry about next years fees. The card is used up and my fees are paid in full for two years.

If you buy Disney gift cards can those be used to pay the MF? Or is it just the reward dollars off of the cc? I ask because I see discounts on gift cards from time to time (up to 20% at our grocery store once) and wondered if I could buy those and save 20% on my MF's!

Yes you can use gift cards, you have to call MS directly to pay your dues when using gift cards. I remember reading a post where one woman paid her MF with 25 gift cards. That must have been a long phone call. We only had enough Disney Reward dollars to pay part of our MFs so we had to call them to pay first with the Rewards card and the rest on a CC, Disney Visa of course.

Thanks for this info! Our HEB was running $100 worth of gift cards for $80 a few weeks ago. I found out about a couple of days after the sale went off. You had to buy the cards in $100 increments, so I would have to buy several cards to pay off the MF which would be kind of funny at the check out line, then call MS and spend a while paying them with all those cards! It would be well worth the savings, though!

Yes HEB is a Texas-based grocery store. However, given that this thread is EIGHT years old, I’m not sure they’re recently offering 20% off on gift cards, so don’t feel bad!

You can go online at transfer the value of several gift cards to one. I believe the limit is $1,000 dollars. I was able to pay my maintenance fees online with the gift card.

I don't think MS accepts GCs to pay for anything other than dues currently. At least that's what we were told when we went to buy.

You can't purchase points using gift cards. They accept them for nearly everything else.

IIRC, I made multiple GC payments online for MF last year. Great way to shave at least 5% back (via Target).

In general,
1) Yes you can pay online (or through member services) with a gift card.
2) If you pay by credit card, you must pay your MF all at once.
3) If you set up monthly auto debit from your bank account, you can pay partial amounts via gift card. As long as you pay by gift card before that month's payment is due, they will never debit your checking.
4) Personally, I save enough money throughout the year to pay the amount of last year's dues. When the dues increase comes out, I buy gift cards through my Target debit card at 5% off, and that covers (usually) the dues increase. This year I saved $135 buying through Target. (We don't have HEB here, unfortunately. )
