Paying it back THREE people OFF the unemployment line!!

First one ME! I got this GREAT job after more than a year doing contract jobs and being on and off unemployment. I finally have benefits and some sort of idea how I'm going to send my son to college!

The best part is I was given the ability to hire my own staff of two.

After contacting and speaking to many candidates I was given the go ahead to hire two ladies I "worked" with previously.

One was laid off with me when my first job tanked.

The second was laid off last year when Turner Broadcasting let ALL of us loose on December 23rd.

The amazing part is neither of them worked directly with me but I always admired the way they handled themselves professionally and how they handled crises. In this environment, that's the qualities I was looking for.

Neither one ever knew I was in admiration of them, even before I considered them for these positions... in the second one I was a temp, so she never once had the need to impress me, but DID!

In other words you NEVER know where your next blessing will be coming from. I am so happy to be able to give these ladies the piece of mind I just received myself a month ago.

LOL, I WISH! I just wonder what they saw ME doing!!

My Mom always told me to treat everyone from the Janitor to the CEO with the respect they've earned, and I always have. If you pick and choose those you want to impress, it can come back and bite you on the butt!!

One of the lady's husbands was a co worker of mine. He is the nicest, most polite young man I ever worked with. I had no idea they were married! When she told me he was her husband I was FLOORED. I wanted to tell her to tell him that HE was instrumental in securing her job because if she picked HIM, she had to be a great person!!

I just got off the phone with the last girl and the relief in her voice was all worth it. I told her I UNDERSTAND and boy do I!

When I left my last job, they started laying off a large number of my former employees. I'm very blessed to be able to offer positions to several of them at my new job.

They have also been a blessing to me - they are incredible!! And my new company is so fantastic... it all worked out in the end.
