Just curious (as families) how do you pay for things at WDW, i.e. meals, souvies, etc...do you carry cash, or just one credit card, or key to the world in some cases? Really curious if wanted to pay cash for everything you do, is it safe to carry cash around all day? :confused3 :flower:

DH and I usually use American Express Travellers checks. You have to sign them and (usually) show ID before you use them, so they are not as easy to use if they are stolen. Also, if they ARE stolen, you can have them replaced. We have never run in to ANY problems with the parks/restaurants/even small stands accepting them.

We also use our American Express card - knowing that the AMEX bill will be there when we get home and it HAS TO get paid makes control A LOT of our spending (not all, mind you... ;) )..... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We charge everything we can back to our room. DH and I usually will carry $20 each in our fanny packs for the few vendors that don't take the room charge. It just seems easier that way. :)

We usually carry a bit of cash (like, say $100 each) for snacks and the like. We put everything else on credit card or debit card. DH and I each have our own credit card accounts, so even if one of us lost a cc, we would still have a cc left for the trip.

We bring a couple hundred in cash JIC, but we try to charge as much to the room key as possible and use our Disney Visa or Citi Dividends for the awards. We are very dilligent in paying the balance in full at each billing period for either.

We will be doing the same as G8RFAN with our Disney Visa. Plus I have $620 DD on my Disney Visa Rewards card that I will apply to the room.

I pay off my room balance before arrival and then leave a cc'd for charging to the room. I charge most everything on the resort charge but I stop at the front desk and pay it off every couple days with Travelers Checks or cash. I don't like a bill waiting but I don't want to carry alot of cash so this works for us.

Make sure to keep a bit of cash however as some of the outdoor carts and stands don't take the charge.
