Contempory wants the balance paid in full prior to our arrival - is this something new?

Not if you're booked thru WDTC. I think they request full payment 45 days prior to arrival.

I booked POR through CRO and they also want full payment before we arrive. I did book it as a Dream Maker Package so maybe that's why? I just thought it was a Disney thing. I've never paid in full for a hotel room prior to arrival in my life.

harmonize4me,

I too, just learned that our AKL rooms will have to be paid in full 21 days prior to arrival. I wonder if it is because we got a room-only ressie with a code? I'm so glad I checked -- I have never had to pay before checkout at any other hotel, and I would have lost the ressie!!!!

That's odd. I just inquired about paying the balance in advance (because we have to pay for cruise portion which was booked seperately) and I was told no balance on rooms was due until check in. Hhhmmmm....?

Just talked to CRO about this and they said on room only reservations, as long as they have a credit card, the first night is charged immediately and the balance is charged upon check-in.

To verify this call 1-407-wdisney.

I paid the deposit by check - I did not use a credit card.

We have room only ressies at POFQ for May. When we first booked at rack rate our confirmation said balance due at check in. Then we applied a AAA discount and when the new confirmation came it said balance due 21 days prior to check in. When I called CRO to inquire about this change they said a AAA room only discount is treated as a package. Now, I'm wondering, if we are lucky enough to get an AP or code discount will the payment requirement go back to being due at check in again? I really would prefer that because I am one of the nervous nellie types who is always afraid something is going to go wrong at the last minute and make us cancel.

We usually pay in full before arriving. It is easier and not only that it is less cash we have to bring and one less thing to have to take care of when we get to WDW.

I'm wondering about this too? We also had booked through CRO and had balance due at check in but when we applied AAA they changed to balance due 21 days prior. This won't work for us since we have 2 rooms and 2 seperate forms of payment.

Anyone know if we later change to AP if it goes back to balance due at check in?

Thanks.

Jodi,
Aren't you booked at the CR via SoG? If you are, and you have paid your 1st night's deposit, you can disregard any requests for payment by the CR until check in. I have stayed there twice now via SoG and have booked a third trip for November, and that is the info they have given me each time.

If I am incorrect and you aren't booked at the CR via SoG, disregard my above statement, cause I am clueless about CRO or WDWTC.
