Paying for Southwest Tickets Question

My SIL will be booking Thursday for a trip in August. She does not have a credit card and asked me about using her debit card. I looked on the SW site and didnt see anything about debit cards so I told her they probably didnt accept them. So how will she go about paying for the tickets? She does a have a checking account. Thanks in advance. ShelleyZ

If it is a debit card with a visa or mc logo, there will be no problem.
If not, she will need to call SWA and see how she can do it.

Just please tell your sister to be prepared. I put airfare on my debit card (Southwest) back in Oct. I ended up bouncing several checks because it turns out they put a "hold" on your account for twice the price of the tickets! Once the money has been taken out the hold will come off, but in the mean time she will not have access to that money! Just an FYI.

What a bummer!!! They only put one hold on my account and that was for the price of the tickets. And, this is the only way I ever pay for my tickets. BTW, if you call your bank they will remove duplicate holds. They do know how to read them. I had the duplicate hold happen on my account with the Reebok sneaker heart association program and they removed the second hold immediately.
