I just saw a room where the person is giving answers to the Christmas question but he is making people pay. Is this allowed?

I would report this player. I don't believe it's allowed.

depends what he was asking. If it was like a 50 credit item I really see no problem with that. I have given with out asked the rooms I go to for quest help before the spoilers are posted I gift for helping me. If it states in the room description answers for this many credits then he is up front at the beginning. What is the difference of that and having that turnstile that takes credits in your room. Though VMK is still working on it. Some people are good at games others at quests. Some kids never get to these boards and do not have the spoilers to help them. Personally I have taken many on a quest to help them. But really what is the difference from paying to ride a players ride. Or paying in cute or boot or paying for help on a quest. These kids open up there rooms for quest help do they ever get recognition. They have this gold star program but nobody in the newsletter gets recognized for there kindness towards others :)

I was giving out quest answers yesterday to about... I'd say around a dozen people that just crowded me in one of my rooms. One of them offered me something after they got the tree but I refused. It's just easy questions, an easy quest, no reason to charge anything for it. :confused3

All I'd really want is a thank you, but of course only about two bothered with that.

the problem with the "Gold Star Program" is that only certain people will ever get it, like certain CLs (who should not EVER get it, but I saw Hula tell one that she could) and people who crowd the Hosts like (name would be removed so I wont even bother, but I saw someone report you for pretending to be a host once, haha!) - I say, charge away. Noone else is going to thank you for your help, not the player, not VMK, certainly not the hosts. Well, maybe Hula, MAYBE, but none of the others.

so when you see someone walking around with a gold star, ask them who they "helped" to get it. So far the three that I have seen have "helped" a HOST, not a newbie or another player. Good idea this Gold Star program. The hosts need their shoes shined more often I guess.

Here's how i see it.. quests are free for a reason. They allow those who may be low on credits to get an item without paying for it. I think charging to give out answers is totally barbaric and completely erases the reason why quests are the way they are.

As far as I'm aware, charging a player for giving them quest help is against the rules. I don't remember if it was something Yavn put in the newsletter or what, but I remember very clearly something about it. I saw someone once demanding stuff for dive quest help, and I reported her. If this player pops back up with his room again, I'd report him too.

I have never done this for quest answers, but I gave a rare for how to get narnia lamp post (pink heartless- way better than the person who gave grapewillow inferno!) and a pirate stool for how to get monster inc. doors. The only reason I did this was because I happened to need these items immediately.

I wouldn't pay for quest answers and I would NEVER charge for them. I did the new quest without the help of a spoiler post. I didn't know some of the answers so I followed my instinct and headed for Town Square. Sure enough, the answers I needed to know could be obtained from people there. Some I had to ask for, others I just plucked out of the talk bubbles. I stayed around to help others after I finished the quest. Later on I found a couple people struggling with the quest in the pirates lobby. I waited with them until they finished the quest, offering help as needed.

My point? Get your answers for free by visiting the main street rooms. Then share them. If more of us do this and tell people about it, then there will be less of a "need" to visit those pay for the answers rooms.

i think thats terrible that he's doing that making people pay for quest answers especially if some of the people he gets to pay him are newbies i hope he gets banned for that.

I agree
I cannot count the number of players that i have helped on this and other quest, and i always see other players cheerfully helping each other!

Friends and I (who can name themselves if they want to) have stood on the mansion steps for hours having fun being a vmk quest help desk of sorts.

We entertain ourselves, help others, and take NOTHING from anyone. Even those who offer.

To see players charge for helping others just bugs me to no end.

Be nice to each other people - it's a game!
