I know there is a thread on here somewhere about this but my question is this...is it happening now? I have a 17 yr old neice that just got back from Disney on the 22nd, with her friends family. She said they stayed at Movies and had a suite and the friends family paid to get fast passes. Now she's only 17 never been to Disney so I just wondered if there is anyone else who can confirm this or not? Thanks

It is not happening now. It doesn't really look like it will be happening very soon either.
I would estimate the only time it "might happen" is when Disney is not successful at being able to keep all their resorts booked up with spend crazy guests like all of us.
When you see the availability at all the resorts open wide up and the other resorts (outside the parks) being full, then they will have reasons to offer more fastpass benefits to "on property" guests.
Just my opinion.

I can confirm that ASMovies does not have any suites and that you don't pay for fastpass. Maybe since she in unfamilair with the area, she made the common mistake of confusing the fastpass system at WDW with the system in place at Universal which I believe you can pay for.

First off, there are no suites at ASM. Second, there's no charge for FP's.

Fast Passes come with the price of your theme park ticket. I've been every year since fast pass started, my last trip I got back in October. I've never ever had to pay for a fast pass. All you do is use your theme park ticket, insert that into the fast pass machines, and out comes your fast pass. There will be people trying to make a fast buck selling off their own fast passes. Just beware of those people.

Both are things that Disney has given some indications that they're considering. In the case of the suites at ASM, they put together some prototype suites, and it seems they're seriously considering this new type of offering, for some point in the future. Regarding the FastPasses, Disney did patent a whole set of ideas involving how to "sell" FastPasses in a variety of different ways. None of those ideas have been adopted, and what seems most likely is that they'll find some way of offering special FastPass considerations (a type of priority, perhaps) to a segment of resort guests, perhaps for a fee.

Well good I'm glad to hear that my neice didn't know what she was talking about :rotfl: Thanks guys :goodvibes
