Paying for DDP in advance?

Can I pay for my DDP in advance via gift card thru MS or do I have to wait until I check in?

At this time, MS has no way to accept any type of payment other than points. Perhaps a future reservation system enhancement will address that.

Are you sure? Because when I book a room on cash with the DVC discount through MS, they take my credit card to pay for it. I'm sure they roll it over to a CRO-type reservation with the discount, but they surely take my credit card number.
