I'm wanting to get some more Disney Dollars by using my Disney credit card to pay some of my bills.

I've never paid bills with a credit card before (only used bill pay option through Chase to pay bills with my checking account) so what's the easiest way to do this.

Do I have to go to the website of each individual bill and pay through that website? Or is there a way to do a type of bill pay through my credit card so I can make multiple payments at one time without having to go to each individual website?

Thanks for any suggestions! :)

ETA: I'd like to pay ATT home phone/cell phone, Edison bill, gas bill, comcast internet, and directv bill. Do I get charged a fee if I use a credit card to pay for any of these bills?

For all of our bills, I went to each individual site and set up recurring payments. For our gas bill, they wanted to charge a fee, so I have that one set up to automatically deduct from our Chase checking account. The electric company doesn't even give you an option to pay with a credit card, so that comes out of checking, too. I use the CC to pay our Time Warner bill (cable, internet)and our Sprint bill (cell phones) and our water bill which we only pay every 3 months. Oh how I wish we could put our mortgage payments on our CC. That would be an extra $15 a month in rewards!:rotfl: A girl can dream...

Thanks for this! So it looks like i'll only be able to pay the internet, phone, and tv with my credit card. I guess I can start using it on other purchases too, like gas, groceries, etc. I just HATE using my CC sometimes. I like to have things payed off IMMEDIATELY but it will only be for 4 months until our cruise.

Ugh, I wish we could use our CC for our mortgage also! $17 a month just off of the house alone! That would be awesome!

PS, I pay my car insurance, life insurance too ;)

I do that too! I forget about those since they aren't monthly. I pay them off once a year.

OP, for paying for gas, etc... they way I use my card is like this...

I charge EVERYTHING possible. Even if it's just a $1 coke at McDonald's. When I balance my checkbook register, I deduct everything as it happens and that way I know how much money I have in our checking account and it isn't available to use for anything else. When it's time to pay the CC bill, I just pay it off completely every month. Easy peasy. The month we bought our airline tickets for Disney, we also had some car work done and another small vacation we took. Our CC bill was just under $6000!!! Typically we spend about 3,000-3,500 per month on our CC. Our August charges are going to be big because we will be paying off our October Disney trip and our season tickets for men's and women's basketball games. :scared1: Amen for my husband having a good, steady job! Our rewards definitely add up quickly! Love, love, love my Disney Visa!:rotfl:

I go to each individual site to pay. For example, I pay att with my DV but I have it saved under my att account so it's just a matter of clicking. I also pay the bug man, and anything else that takes a credit card without charging a fee. My utilities company charges a $4 fee to pay with credit card, not worth it. I also buy groceries, gas, anything that I would normally pay with cash. It adds up in rewards dollars!

We pay almost everything on our Disney Visa. I went onto the web sites (Verizon & Verizon Wireless & Comcast) and set-up auto payment for them. We also use it for all grocerys and household purchases. We do not use it to pay our electric or gas bill. Our provider for those items - Keyspan - charges you a "service fee" so its not worth the few points a year for those.

I wish I could do the mortgage and car/house insurance. That would really add up the points.

Other than groceries and other purchases, I do cell phone, house phone/internet, car insurance, and water, sewer & trash with the credit card (city where I live takes credit cards for that). Mortgage - can't do that.

I go on about 3 trips a yr to disney for free from the points i earn from my business.. i go to each website, register my card and have it automatic bill

Free meaning what? Hotel/Food/Souvenir/Airfare? How much is each trip? My family of 4 spends about $4K for a week long trip including those 4 aspects. Even ignoring airfare, it's around $3K. 3 trips per year would be $9K. In order to get $9,000 in Disney Dollars per year, you'd need to put $900,000 of charges every year on your Disney Visa. Impressive.

That is great.

We don't have a business and DH's work has told him about a year or so ago that he is no longer allowed to use his own CC for business expenses and get reimbursed. He can only use THEIR CC issued to him.

It is a bit easier that way, we don't have to worry about reimbursement, but it doesn't give us any rewards either.

I could see how a business could spend $900k/yr on bills and purchases.

And I believe you CAN set up bill paying on the Disney Visa. Log in, and click on your card # (the tab w/ the last 4 digits of it). One the screen that takes you to, there should be a link that says "Pay bills with this card" with a little orange icon to the right of it, in the "I'd like to..." list to the right of the screen. I haven't actually paid bills through it, so I'm not sure how it works exactly (autopay, manual each month, etc.), but I have clicked it, and it asks you to search for the companies you pay bills to, I believe.

ETA: nevermind, I tried it. It just lets you find the companies you pay bills to, then gives you a link to their site and tells you to set up billing through them. I thought it was some sort of central billing tool, like doing bill pay through your bank.

I use my card for most purchases, then every morning I add up what I spent the day before and do a transfer from my checking to my credit card account (both are with Chase). That way I get my points and it keeps me honest when it comes time to pay the bill!

Thanks for trying! I was hoping that it could be set up like that too.

That's a great idea! I bank with Chase also, so this is great. Thanks! :)
