Does anyone know if you have to pay to gatecheck a stroller with Airtran?

We primarily fly United and this has never been an issue as it is free. But, my husband thought he saw something on the Airtran site that led him to believe anything checked at the gate would be charged a "baggage fee". Is this true?

"You may bring a stroller to the gate for ease of travel through the airport. The stroller may be gate checked just before boarding the plane and will be returned to the aircraft jet way upon arrival at your destination. Car seats and strollers may be checked free of charge"

googled "airtrain stroller" and got to their general information page.

Thank you.

I don't know what my husband was reading, but he thought for sure the stroller would be treated as baggage. I'll direct him to general info page to reassure him that there is no fee involved.
