Must we pre-purchase these or can you buy them at the gate or anywhere locally when we get there ?

As I am coming from Canada, I'm kinda short to have them dleivered all the way up here before we travel (in 2 weeks) so I'm hoping I can just buy them locally or at the gate... If not, I guess I can always have them delivered to the hotel but I trust that option a little less...

Help !!

I'm not sure I follow -

The tickets online are 149$ US (and yes, our exchange rates SUCKS !!)

What is the cost at a Disney store in Canada ? Is it at par ??

This is interesting !!

Julie

Can't you pay at Disneyland.com and print out your tickets? Then you take that print out to the gate and they swap them for real tickets? That's what I did last year when we went, but I'm in the U.S.
Good luck!

Does anyone know how long this promo will run for? Just wondering if I should buy now for our spring break trip...

We r also coming from Canada and did the by online and print at home EASY!
also if you happen to lose your tickets you can always reprint them lol that would happen to me.

If you go to the website, wait for the "celebrate" thing to play, and click on "Buy" then Tickets, change the drop down to 2009. That will let you see the '09 tickets, and from there you can see that they are "Valid January 6, 2009 thru April 30, 2009."

Also, "The first visit must occur on or before April 30, 2009. All Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Bonus Tickets expire 13 days after first use or on May 13, 2009, whichever occurs first."

OP, if the prices work for you, just buy online and print at home. Or if you don't have a printer, still have it sent to an easily accessible email address (hotmail, gmail, that sort of thing) and go to a friend's house with a computer and printer, or Kinkos or a trusted cybercafe that has computers and printers for use, get into your email, and print from there. :)

We are going in April and I, too, am curious about buying the passes at Canadian Disney stores.....how does the price compare??

The total cost is $204 at any disney store. That includes GST

If you buy online with our exchange rate. Or at least how it was a few weeks ago, it was a total of four dollars difference!

How does the cost go from $149.00 USD to over $200.00 CD? That is quite the difference. That does stink. :(

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe MNN was buying tickets longer than 3 days?

disneyland.com does not charge tax, so if you're paying GST at the disneystore, know it won't show up online. Unless their system does something fundamentally funky with a Canadian card and billing address, that is.

And in that case, get a big ol' giftcard when you get to DLR, pay for a copule minutes at a computer and printer, and buy them right there, print 'em out, and go on.

At least I think that would work. :)

But going by xe.com, 149 USD becomes 181 CAD right now. 179 for a 6 day "pay at kid's price" becomes 218ish right now.

I think I'm doing that right.

Sometimes it seems like nothing can be easy. One needs a passport to go to Canada.
Canada's dollar just has to be different from ours. I say, we should not need a passport to visit Canada, like in the good old days. And Canada should use the American dollar instead. Maybe we can take a vote on it? O.K. maybe we cannot.

I would prefer it if we used Canadian dollars. I mean, they have loonies and toonies. It cannot get better than that.

I think that land and sea travel can still be done without an actual passport. Just air travel still. As of the upcoming June, unless it's delayed again, that will change, but until then, just drive, train, or boat on up. :)

I'm going for five days... Sorry for the confusion!!! I just like to keep everyone on their toes!

So, now that I've really had time to think about this and why I was saving $4 was because I was looking at booking though ARES.

I clearly remember someone on this site giving me the heads up that the cost of DL tickets at the Disney Store was the same as it is in the states, just with Canadian Dollars. Which is why I've been pushing the "go with the Disney Store" scenario.

You can't get the pay for the price of kids. But when I priced everything out I was only saving myself four dollars and that was before I included the shipping charges.

And bumpershoot Toonies and Loonies are the best things ever! I save mine when I get them and that's how I've paid for half of my trip. With change!

O.K. now, I do not believe that I have any notion as to what loonies and toonies are. Sometimes, I feel like I have just stepped out of a cave. ;) he he. The only thing that comes to mind are cartoons. Even then, it would be looney tunes. O.K. I shall stop now. ;)

I called the Disney Store in my area (Ottawa) and they only sell tickets to Disney World - not Land. So that's out !

I didn't realize you could print them at home !! Thats' the way I'll do it. I'm just gonna watch the exchange rate and see if I get a better day then jump on it !

Speaking of which, I still have to pay for the registration to the convention I am going to. It's 750$ and with the current exchange it amounts to 916$CDN - OUCH !!!! :scared1:

And about using USD - I have to disagrre - ours is so pretty !! Our bills all have different colors whichmakes it so much easier to tell what you have at a quick glance ! Plus, much as we complained about the loonies / twoonies in the beginning, I like them ! It's so easy to collect spare change and make some real savings - a pocket full of change can easily be 8-9 $ here !

Thanks for your help!
Julie

loonies and toonies are one and two dollar coins....kind of like our sacagwea dollar coin.
