Our Feb trip I have to pay out of pocket for one of our TS meals. We are on the regular dining plan. So far my plans are:

Saturday Feb 5 Rose and Crown

Sunday Feb 6 Hoop De Doo

Monday Feb 7 Le Cellier

Tuesday Feb 8 Prime Time

Wed Feb 9 Teppan Edo

I am thinking that out of all these meals, our best bet (most economical) would be to pay oop for Rose and Crown?
Would you agree??

TIA,
Marie

You didn't mention which of these ressies will be for lunch and/or dinner. Lunch would obviously be cheaper. Hoop Dee Doo takes 2 TS credits. Check out the allears.net website and they have menus and prices (they do update frequently and would give you a price ballpark).

Check out the menus....breakfast is cheaper as well. Oh, I guess none of those serve breakfast, my mistake.

These are all dinner ressies.....and due to the fact that Hoop De Doo takes 2 credits is the reason I have to pay for one meal out of pocket. I think R&C would most likely be the cheapest

If I knew in advance like you that I wanted an OOP dining reservation, I'd make it for lunch instead of dinner. 50's Prime Time or Rose and Crown for lunch wouldn't be a bad choice.

Hate to break it to you, but LeCellier is also two credits for dinner, one credit at lunch.

So you may consider paying for either HDDR or LeCellier to cover your two credit gap.

It won't be 2 TS until March 1.

Look at the menus and pick what meal will most likely be cheapest. I agree with PP - Rose and Crown is most likely your best bet.

I know this is not answering your question, but I noticed that you have HDDR planned for a Sunday.....I thought I read somewhere that HDDR only takes place on Thursdays and Saturdays......Not sure if that's right, but wanted to point that out incase.....

Anyone know for sure?

You really have to ck out the menu to see what you would be eating and see the prices then you can see what works best for you.

Despite the fact that it isn't the most economical way to go, I'd make the OOP meal one of the last ones, just in case something happens and you don't make it to one of your ADRs! I know this happened to us on our last trip, so this time I have one "buffer" ADR idea on our next to last day on the dining plan, just in case we miss an earlier one. It would be Raglan Road, which doesn't seem particularly difficult to get reservations for, and we'll only make one if we miss an earlier meal on the dining plan.

Hoop Dee Doo runs 3 times a night, 7 nights a week and it has for Years!!! (1970's I think).
Enjoy

It;s Mickey's Backyard BBQ that runs only 2 nights a week, and not year round. It'd be hard to get an ADR for an event that doesn't exist.

On to the op's question. Check out Prime Time Cafe's menu. The best things on it are the pot roast and fried chicken, both reasonably priced. Those that got steak there in our group were disappointed. I had the surf and turf at R&C and the steak was incredible. This was in September. I'd pay oop for PTC and eat like kings at R&C. YMMV

Thanks for all the replies so far!

My reasoning for Rose and Crown for Dinner is because this will be our first night (saving this evening's TS credit for HoopDeDoo) and I have yet to see the illuminations show. I am hoping that we will be able to view it from the restaurant and I was thinking Fish and Chips sound yummy! (now my son is not a fish lover, thus the nixing of my original plans to just use a QS credit as dinner at Yorkshire fish and chip shop (Andrew would choose a QS he wanted)....and then we'd watch illuminations wherever we ended up in the World Showcase!)

However, the more I thought about it, I realized that I really want the sit down TS experience after a long day of travel and thought at least at R&C there is a good selection for the both of us to find something we like....I can have fish and chips, and Andrew can have shepherds pie or something else that catches his fancy.

Our 50's Prime Time ressie is for dinner and needs to stay a dinner ressie because this is one of our favourite dinner menus. We love this restaurant , it's fun and the food is yummy.....Both of us LOVE the steak dinner here, it's always been delicious for us and what we order every time. So that nixes putting it for lunch :)

All the other TS dinners are favourites and I really don't want to give up any of them.
Thankfully LeCellier will still only be a 1 TS dinner during our trip, so don't have to worry about a 2 credit defisate.

Actually, we almost did have a 2 credit defisate (sp?) to worry about because the original plan was to try out Beaches and Cream for our arrival lunch. I have heard about the yummy burgers here for years and really wanted to try them......but that would take a TS credit or Pay OOP option. I decided, Hurricane Hannah's sells the same burgers, so we'll probably just have lunch at the pool and use a CS credit for our lunch (saving some $$ by not paying oop).....and try B&C some other time for an icecream treat.

I guess it's all boiling down to the fact that R&C is our best bet for an OOP meal for what we want to eat :)
All this food talk is making me hungry, LOL!!!
