when someone said it was ok to give a particular item but not a buffet or all you can eat entitlement, whats the difference?

) I am telling you--they made our day! Actually, they made our week! It was one of the best vacations ever because they sprinkled pixie-dust in the form of kindness and generosity upon us before they flew back to Canada.
The price of the buffet clearly is for one person eating one meal
But to take an unused mug that is for unlimited refills for the length of your stay and give it to one person who will use that mug for just the length of their stay -- it's like buying the item as a gift for someone. It's an item, like a T-shirt or a pin lanyard. I don't see that it's against the rules, but if the OP has any concerns, they could contact Disney and just ask
