Pay it Forward (from Facebook status)

Hi Everyone. I tend to lurk on this board and only contribute occasionally. I like being creative but tend to get bogged down in daily life. But I thought you all might be interested in the status thing going around Facebook now.

"Pay it forward 2011: I promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment. They must in turn post this and send something they made to the first 5 people who comment on their status. The rules are that....it must be handmade by you and it must be delivered sometime in 2011. "

I think this is an intriguing idea. I've got three takers on Facebook (alot of my friends are already in bed--not nite owls like me). Any chance of starting this on here?

Hey Jenn!

Great idea but we already pay it forward in a slightly different way. As a group we've made baby albums, Make a Wish albums, cards for soldiers, and the general support of our little family here.

I'm not sure if the FB challenge work but you want to help in any way with the above projects we would love to have extra help the next time we have sign ups.

Jenn-I am doing this on FB. Do you know what you are making yet? I am thinking about quilting some bags/purses. Or I might crochet some scarves. Love to see pis of what you have made.

I've got to get started. I keep thinking about it. One minute I want to do a bunch of small things so that they can open them each month. Then I think about what each of them likes. Then I think about one made a comment about needing a tiara and figuring out how to incorporate that. Then I thought about tie-dye tshirts. Then I thought about casserole carriers (who doesn't go to a carry-in dinner or take food to work/to a friend at some point?). I've also thought about Christmas decorations.

Can you see why I haven't gotten started? And the list goes on........

I will post pics--when I figure out how to do that (yeah there's a sticky I need to read)--and when I decide and make them.
