Just trying to earn all the Reward Dollars possible!

Thanks!

No you can't do a monthly debit on your credit card to pay dues. You can do one from your checking account or you can pay it all at once. I think I remember hearing that members in foreign countries can do a monthly credit card debit. Probably helps with the exchange to U.S. currency so it's worth it to DVC.

The auto-debit is a better deal anyway, if you are carrying any debt whatsoever. The opportunity costs of paying dues all at once (in terms of interest lost, or interest payed on something else you could have payed down) far outweigh the meager 1% in Disney $$.

However, we will frequently make pre-payments our DVC loan on the Disney Visa and get rewards points that way.

thanks, HBC and pumpkinboy!

we're currently doing the auto debit from checking account.
we don't carryover a balance on our credit cards - just looking to charge what we use the checking account for and make weekly online payments to keep the Visa paid up.

we use a BP Visa now - but with all the BP stations closed in our area, it just doesn't make sense to not get any rewards .... and voila!!! the disney visa arrives!!! :Pinkbounc

now i'm wondering about State Farm, SBC, Sprint, water, electric, and TXU gas ....... hmmmmm ......

I have my monthly dues come out of my savings account, and I charge my annual dues. Hope this helps!!

I think debbiedoo means she is having her monthly loan payment deducted from her savings account and is paying her annual dues in a lump sum with her charge card. (I'm guessing thst she had Disney finance her initial purchase. Some people are able/chose to pay cash for the initial buy in).

Annual dues can either be paid in one lump sum (due in January each year) or they can be paid monthly. If you elect the monthly method, you must allow DVC to directly debit a checking/savings account. If you elect to pay your dues in one lump payment, you can send a check or use a credit card.

If you accept Disney financing (to pay the initial purchase price), it is my understanding that you must allow DVC to directly debit your checking/savings account on a monthly basis. No other option is permitted for the loan.

HTH.

Do you mean you have your loan payment taken monthly and dues annual?

hlwoodcock - you can either pay a lump sum in January or have it taken monthly out of a bank account.

If you can pay your utility and insurance bill using a creidt card, by all means do it! We have phone, cable and cellphones all set up on credit cards, and earn points that way. We also use them when at grocery stores, the pharmacy, gas stations and at the post office, which builds the points balance. Since we pay our cards off every month, just like our utilities, this works quite well. Sadly, the local utilities in the Boston area do not accept credit card payments :(, only checks or direct debits.

Good luck!

seems like you & i are on the same page - charge all possible that can be easily paid off! i love it! i got a yes so far on state farm, internet service, sprint pcs! local utilities here will probably also say no, but it's worth asking! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

sure wish dvc would let us charge the monthly dues!!!
