Paxton Residence Hotel Spa?

I've never stayed but I see where it is having gone past it many times ;)

Nearest RER is Bussy St Georges which is 2 stops from MLV-Chessy (DLP) station so it's not far (under 10 minutes) but then you'd have to get from the hotel to the RER and that is a long trek on foot.

They might run a shuttle service you never know.

Obviously if you have a car it's very straightforward just a bit further along the autoroute :)

Edit - They do run a free shuttle to the RER found it on the website :)

Thank you Carrie Cat :) . It says they do a free shuttle bus to the RER station, so its looking pretty good. The hotel looks lovely and I'm getting some incredible quotes on www.otel.com . Its just that we were supposed to be going for our Silver Wedding this year but have since had to pay for our daughter's wedding and our son's graduation is looming.......we also have a mega DLP trip planned for next year with loads of family, so unless I can find a real bargain I won't be able to see the 20th celebrations at all :( I suppose I would need to find out how late the free shuttle bus operates and how much the RER tickets would be everyday? A closer hotel might end up cheaper?

It does look lovely though, I wonder if anyone has stayed there?

Thank you
Kaye

Tickets shouldn't be too bad as you can get a carnet of 10 for 20% less than a single ticket - anyone can use them

From the station before that to DLP (Torcy) it's around 2,30€ as a single ticket iirc last time I did it and from the one after it Val d'Europe it's 1,75€ so it's going to be say 2€ full price and 18€ for a carnet.

It looks really nice, I agree :goodvibes

I've just rang them for you

Shuttle runs from 9.00-10.15 am weekdays and and again from 19h-20h30. Saturday the same but only Sunday am

The receptionist said that it's a 10-15 minute walk.

She was really pleasant on the phone and helpful if that counts in decision making :goodvibes

Wow, Carrie Cat, that really was above and beyond the call of duty.....that was so nice of you  . I'm glad you think it looks nice too, however I have been caught out before by photos and online reviews [bad experience in Paris 2 years ago :scared1: ] so it would be nice to hear from anyone who had actually stayed :) .
However the combined price [4 people for 4 nights with breakfast 337euros] and nice service [from your experience is selling it to me more and more!
At this rate we could afford a 4/5 day trip before my son's graduation as we have to pay to get to mainland Scotland anyway [its in Glasgow] and we have enough airmiles for the flights. Then we could buy passports to reuse on our big trip next year .

Thank you
Kaye

You've got yourself a busy year ahead haven't you but I bet it's going to be great fun and loads of special memories. :wizard:

It was no bother to ring them, pleased to help.

Looked on Trip Advisor and the reviews aren't brillant though :(

There's the Premiere Classe and the Tulip Inn at Bussy that get good reviews though I don't know the prices for your dates and of course loads at Val d'Europe :)

Kaye, did you end up staying at Paxton? We have it booked in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering how it is. Thanks. :goodvibes

Hi all,

We stayed in the Paxton Residence in June 2011. We had a car and it was very easy to travel to the parks. Easier than some of the closer hotels (Chanteloupe for example) as the traffic flow to the car parks is designed for cars from the autoroute. I don't think I would have stayed there without a car.

The hotel had more business guests in it than visitors to Disney. I don't see that as a plus or a minus, but meant that we found breakfast quieter than we would expect in a hotel by the parks as not everyone is rushing to get out at the same time as you. The breakfast was a cooked buffet which is a bonus.

The pool was indoors and quite large by my memory. The pool ladder was dangerous as it had come detached from the pool side. Once we realised this we simply didn't use the ladder and all was fine. Other than that we were happy with the pool especially as we had it to ourselves most of the time, with the occasional business guest having a quiet swim. The ladder is hopefully fixed as that was 18 months ago.

The room slept 4 people, a double bed on a mezzanine style balcony and a sofa bed downstairs in the living area (complete with kitchen area.) This was nice with a 10 year old as we had a little separation and privacy whilst being in the same room.

We were very happy with our stay there. We've been to DLP many times so didn't mind a little separation from the "magic". So I would recommend this hotel unless it was your first visit in which case I would recommend staying on site, or in a hotel like Dream Castle or Magic Circus for the atmosphere.

I hope this helps someone.

Frank.

Thank you, Frank! That was very helpful. We will be driving, and have visited DLP before, so I think it will suit us fine. :thumbsup2
