father of prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway case Joran van der sloot, died this evening while playing tennis of a cardiac arrest.

This case has had more twists and turns in it. I wonder what will happen now?

I imagine nothing new will happen.... unfortunately.

Interesting. He was instrumental in the case and had a lot of connections.

I would like to think of this as Karma, as he allegedly helped his son get rid of Natalee's body.

I agree. I believe that he knew all along what happened to her and he was covering for his son. Now that he can no longer do that, I wonder if something else will happen to get someone to talk. I hope so, for Beth's sake. The not knowing would just drive me insane. It's a mothers worst nightmare.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. :rolleyes1 They should bury him at sea.........

Didn't Jordan already say on camera that they dumped her body in the sea? I know I saw that on an undercover camera.

Yes, then, I think his father stepped in, and had him say he was only joking. Joran has been wanting to spill the beans and brag about it for a while. According to Criminal Minds, there are certain personalities who like to brag about their murders. That was how Joran was set up to talk in the first place. Someone correctly profiled him. Joran's father has been the one keeping him in line.

It will get interesting as now that his father is no longer around to be a firm, dissenting voice, keeping Joran quiet, and fixing Joran's mistakes, will Joran continue to keep his own mouth shut?

Hopefully he will brag again & Beth Halloway will finally get some closure.

Exactly, and this may finally be the real "break" in the case they finally need.
Once in a while I will hear 'Aruba' mentioned and always think about Beth...I wish she could have some closure too.

I sure hope they revisit those boys and they crack. They so had something to do with it.

At least the family can have a funeral, with a body, for him. Not so, for Natalie's family & friends. :sad2:

TC:cool1:

If I had my way, I'd send his body to Beth Hollaway and let her decide what happens to his corpse. After all, fair is fair, after Paulus & his miserable excuse for a son decided what happened to her daughter.

Anyone else shocked that he actually HAD a heart?

Karma? You, me and everyone else will someday die. Will that be Karma for something we have done wrong?

I do not know what this guy did or did not do. Assuming he assisted his son or simply knew about it, it raises the question of what we might do to protect our children. I would find it difficult, under any circumstances, to give up my child to the authorities. Hard to say unless you have been in that position, but I can understand wanting to protect your child even though they committed a terrible crime.
