Paula's Wish Journal.......

YEAH! Another one bites the dust! :cheer2:

Time to claim that 5lb clippie! Keep it up and you will be at 10 in no time. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

YEAH!! 6 pounds for April!! Way to go girl....go claim that 5lb clippie!! :cheer2:

Not sure what is worse - typing skills or math skills - that would be 4 ofr April - not 6.....oh well - 5lb clippie is just around the corner!!

A little bit of a bummer, but take the 4 and run with it! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

STill trying but desperately need to pick a diet plan - "cutting back" is just not doing it for me....need to be more disciplined.

I know I can...I know I can....

Maybe you should go to the bookstore and just start reading a few of the different plans before you buy the book. That should help you get an idea of which one will best fit your lifestyle. Good luck on picking one. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I actually have the Dr. Phil book....I think I'll start reading it again.

Sounds like me. I love his book, my problem is finding enough time to get it finished. Maybe, I can read it on the plane in a few weeks. :scratchin

Have a good weekend. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Paula, one thing that helped me is that when I found a plan that worked, I typed out sample menu plans and put them on my fridge...that way I saw it right away when going to the fridge and I knew what I could expect for food. And for eating out, I keep a list of different foods for a variety of places so I know ahead of time what I can get so I'm not drooling over the menu once we get there. It's little things like that which have helped me stay disciplined in this because I'm working ahead of time as opposed as to waiting until the "heat of the moment" to work on cutbacks or choices or something. Anyway, just thought I'd share. I hope you're having a terrific weekend!! :)

Well....I'm back......thought I could do this by just "cutting down" - yeah right!! Time to restart journalling and get serious.

my new "promises":

1. cut down on caffeine (my weakness)
2. drink water - no soda
3. write down everything that I eat
4. weigh in every monday morning
5. try to exercise (see my previous posts regarding back and neck injuries) - even if it's just stretching

6.do something good for me every day
7. find ways to releive stress that do not involve food

I feel good about restarting this - posters and support welcome (thanks Lulu for getting be to start again!!).

Forgot to list:

8. I will start taking vitamins
9. I will try (really try) to eat fruit.

breakfast today was english muffin with peanut butter and butter - prob should have skipped the butter even in a small amount - I'm learning....
2 cups of coffee with light cream.

Welcome back Paula. :cool1:

I can't count the number of times that I feel like I am rededicating myself again, coming up with new goals and reestablishing old ones.

Have you talked to your dr. about what exercises you can do given your neck and back problems? A friend of mine has some back problems and her dr. showed her a few exercises that she can do while lying on the bed. Some are similar to those that most do on the floor, but the bed gives her back the added "cushion" it needs. Laying on the floor would be a big mistake for her. I think that your dr. would know best how to help you in this area since he/she would know the extent of your injuries.

Good luck on kicking the caffeine. You can do this, I have faith in you. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Thanks Lesli,
I am going to ask both my MD and Chiropractor about exercising.

:wave2:

Good job at making those goals for yourself. I tend to die out in my weight loss when I don't have goals because I get bored. Another thing to go along with the writing everything down that you eat - make sure you measure everything out. That is also very important!!!!!

Keep on

Official day #1 - weighed in and recorded.

Breakfast - 3/4 cup Special K cereal
no coffee!!!!!

Have to grocery shop today - salad and roast turkey for lunch.

Went to the grocery store and was really careful about what I bought - had a big green salad for lunch - 2 slices of turkey breast and a small handful of croutons - low carb caesar dressing. i did have crackers with it - Peppridge Farm sesame - my favorite.
No dessert.

Have drank 20oz of water so far today.

**** also very well behaved at the dairy farm - only bought 2% milk and light cream for coffee - no treats.

Still on track....

no snack this afternoon - bought my self a DD iced coffee and only drank 1/2 (save the other 1/2 for tomorrow)

for dinner I made 3/4 cup pasta shells - 1 sm (single service) can of tuna - hard boiled egg and 1/4 cup peas - mixed with 1 tbs. Moracle whip..also had a fresh cucumber *scant salt
Not a bad choice since I am home alone - I would normally do a sandwich and chips...

for dessert - 10 red grapes.

2nd 20 oz bottle of water on my desk right now.

No exercise today though....
the iced coffee was the "me thing" today - and read a bit of my Dr Phil book.

Onward for another day....

Special K cereal again this morning with a small glass of orange juice. No coffee - iced DD from yesterday still in the fridge for me to sip on - gotta get my water bottle ready.

Thinking of buying a new scale today....

Maybe some shopping with the kid - that will be walking at least.

Hi Paula!!

Glad to see you got your journal jumpstarted again! Now you gotta stick with it... or I'll have to come over and give you a kick in the pants, and you know I'm close by enough to do it! hehehe!! :goodvibes

Looks like you are getting off to a good start. I saw you posted a few months back that you were looking at different plans and considering getting Dr Phil's book, anything come of that? I am just curious! (Oooh, I was subtle there, no? Just getting you thinking! hehe (I saw your post about wanting a diet mentor, not sure I am cut out to mentor anyone but I sure can tell it like it is! hehe)

Hope you are doing well and having a happy night!
Mike :flower:

Looks like you are on the right track with the right mindset. Keep on working at it and you'll see great things!!!!

Keep on
