Paula's Wish Journal.......

my day is going ok....had my afternoon coffee and 1 small brownie - if i can l limit myself to that 1 sweet per day I will be getting somewhere.

Dinner is venison loin. baked potato and cole slaw (small helping).

I was thinking today how being brought up in the 60's and 70's I seem to equate "diet" with not eating instead of with eating helthy.
In order for this to work it has to be a lifestyle change for me - it would be great it I could eat healthier foods - feed better and still not deprive myself of anything.

STill feeling positive....

It does take time to throw out that 70's mentality of dieting. I was too young to diet then, but watched the adults in my life eat like birds or not eat at all when they were dieting in the 70's. Until you mentioned it, I didn't really stop to think that I had gotten the wrong ideas of dieting from that. Interesting. :scratchin

A lifestyle change takes time, but it really feels great! Keep up the good work. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Just a quick post - I thought I was going to have to write off yeterday as a total wash....but I stepped in the scale this morning and I lost 2 pounds!!!!

:cool1: Woohoo!!!!!!!!

Tried to all the Summer challenge Icon to my Sig but it's not working...

All right! 2 lbs down is great!!

Keep up the good work. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Feeling good again today - I actually had cereal for breakfast - a small bowl of rice chex with cut up strawberries- who knew that would be so good????

Having turkey casear alad for lunch - replacing my "crunch" craviong with a hard fat free pretzel.

Trying to cut down on the afternoon coffee....

hmmm...exercise - still not into it but - exercise is movenemt - right?? So at the very least I will hang 3 loads of laundry on the clothesline and will work out in my garden for at least 1 hour - it's a start...

Paula!!! Sounds like you are doing great!!! Keep up the good work!! So glad to hear about your 2 pound weight loss.....2 down is way better than 2 up, that is for sure!!!!

And putting laundry on the line....I used to watch my grandma do it...and quite frankly, that looks like A LOT of exercise to me!!

Have a great day and keep up the good work!!

:teeth: :cheer2: :teeth: :cheer2: :teeth: :cheer2:

Well, we all have to start our exercise somewhere and if that means you get a few chores done then all the better. ;)

You are doing well and you'll soon figure out an exercise routine. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Just a quick morning post- seems like I am doing something right because my impulse eating has lessened - I am really limiting myself and feeling well. Had cereal with fresh strawberries again for breakfast - cut doen to 2 cups of coffee - starting today going to try to cut out the afternoon coffee.

I did hang laundry yesterday - 3 loads - I guess bringing them up from the basement - out to the back yard and hanging counts for something - I also worked on my flower garden for about 1 hr - have to limit myself due to back and neck problems - sore this morning but still glad I got the exercise in and planning on doing it again today.

It's been a couple of says since I posted - questioning whether or not I am doign ok - part of me feels like I am eating better - another part does not think I am accomplishing anything at all - .....

not steping on the scale till Monday.

Need to grocery shop- no food in the house- may be cereal and fruit for lunch.....

Gardening may be good for the exercise but it's definitely not good on my neck - .....now what to do??? Resting today to see if that helps.

Till later...

I hope your neck feels better soon!

With regards to eating, the best thing you can do it keep at it! Any effort you make to eat better, however small, has benefits. Do the best you can and don't give up. You can do it! :cheer2:

Have a great weekend! :flower:

Hang in there, you are doing great! There will always be times (especially in the beginning) when you just aren't sure about all this. But it is worth it. Don't just think in terms of weight, but also think in terms of energy, and attitudes.

Sorry to hear about your neck. Take it easy on the exercise until your neck feels better. Have a great weekend! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Well - I have to admit - I was scared to weigh myself today so I decided to do it every 2 weeks.
Weekends meals - eh..could have been better - but snacking is down - didn't even have to indulge my 9pm snack craving tonite.

Today I had a Slimfast bar for breakfast - turkey caesar salad for lunch and a little bit of snack mix but now that's gone - dinner was a hamburger and a few chips - not bad - tomorrow will be even better.

The only exercise I was able to accomplish was hanging laundry - neck and shoulders still bothering me alot (of course that means I should be off the computer).....

Till tomorrow...

Don't worry about weigh in, you'll be fine. You are watching what you eat and getting in some exercise (even if it is laundry). Before long, you will be feeling better and moving alot. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I feel like I have gone completely off track today - ate small meals but cheated too...

Shoulders and neck still sore so not exercising alot- hope tomorrow is a better day....glad I have till Monday for weigh in.

You can get back on track, I just know it! :cheer2:

Hope weigh in goes well. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

The weigh in went better than expected - I loss 1 more pound - down 3 so far - feel like I am eating way healthier but still need to do better - still feeing positive about all this though.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Another lb. has left the building! :cheer2: :cheer2:

You are doing GREAT! Remember, it takes time, but I think you have come along way already. Keep it up. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

good news - I tried on a pair of Gap jeans that I bought around Christmas but have been afraid to wear fearing the would be too tight....they fit!!

bad news - the jeans are low-rise - not liking what the belly skin looks like....

guess I have to try exercising.

Still haven't picked a definite diet plan yet = did Slimfast today....

At least the jeans fit! That always makes me feel good. Keep up the good work and you will look good in them in no time. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Wow!! It's been way too long since I posted - I weighed myself this morning - down another pound which puts me at 6 pounds for April.

I still don't feel like I've manager to get into a diet and exercise routine......

But.....still feeling very positive - just signed up for 5 for May challenge!!
