Paula Deen's hair

I guess women are less shallow.

Probably so. I have heard many women over the years say that greying hair is becoming on a man. I have never heard a man say that about a woman although I'm sure some think it is. I'm just happy that the women in my life maintain themselves, dress nice, stay fit and attractive.

They have to be didn't you read the James Wood's m new gf thread? Look how she is so not shallow. I mean obviously she is not going with him for his looks:rotfl2:

Kidding aside, women are expected to look great MEN on the other hand can walk around with no shirt, hairy back and huge beer belly. I love when the really fat ugly ones act like they are god's gift to the world. Is it nature or nurture? I see it in my own son's and I NEVER raised them that way. Even when my son was little he would say he coud see my roots and I should dye my hair(not being fresh but letting me know he did not want me to be grey.

Oh, because a woman with gray hair can't otherwise be attractive:confused3:sad2:.

For me? No. It's a huge turnoff.

Gee, not all people with gray hair are ugly. I understand they aren't your type of thing, but you can't make an overall generalization about those with stylish gray hair.

I have had gray streaks in my hair for several years now. They are at my temples and one right at where my hair parts. I didn't start coloring because I work 50+ hours every week and I don't have the time (or even the will) to do it.

I have men tell men rather often that my gray streaks are sexy. I did a temporary color once for a big event and my male coworkers kept telling me that they hoped the color wasn't permanent.

Women, OTOH, ask me why I don't color and they often recommend their stylist to me. I have an amazing stylist and she encourages me to do what I am comfortable with.

If I get more than the streaks, I might consider color but I do have to say that I see women with silver/gray/white hair and if it's healthy and taken care of, it looks beautiful.

As for Paula Dean, I may not love the style but I think the color is stunning.

Somewhere in Cleveland, a Wondertwin's ring just activated!!!! :rotfl:

In all seriousness, I do think Men can pull off grey (or greying) hair better than Women.

OP, I second the suggestion of checking with your Stylist to see if that cut will work with the texture of your hair, and structure of your face. I love Ginnifer Goodwin's pixie cut, but I could never pull that off. Ever. Plus my hair sucks in moisture - so in this humidity, I need weight on my hair to reduce the "hot mess" look!

Also, PD's style that you like, #2, looks like a lot of work. Do you have time everyday to fuss with doing your hair???

OMG. Did I just read this? So, one can do keep in shape, dress nice, try to be attractive (apply some makeup and style their hair, etc.) but if they have white hair you feel they are not maintaining themselves???

Sorry but that attitude makes me sick. I do color my hair but some of my most beautiful clients do not.

Seriously? A huge turn-off? Wow. Just wow.:sad2:

Yes, like Jamie Lee Curtis.

But really, I am charming in my own way. At least that's what I'm told. :thumbsup2

Wanna guess what I would find a big turn-off? Anyone who would judge someone by the color of their hair.

I earned every one of these babies. I might decide to cover them soon for a change of pace. I might not. But if I do, it will be to please myself and not some of the shallow rest of the world.

I'm curious. Those of you men who are turned off to gray hair in women...... Do any of you have gray hair yourselves?

What you mean, "Yes, like Jamie Lee Curtis"? You mean you think she's let herself go because she chooses to have gray hair? Or short hair? Or what?

OK, I'll take your word for it. But I can tell you that I do not find any man charming who is that shallow. I can understand wanting to see someone keep themselves fit and put effort into their appearance but to judge someone by the color (or lack of) of their hair is crossing the line. In my line of work, I am just very bothered by this--I know, more so than the average person probably. Maybe because I know how much work it takes and it is a constant issue. Because 2 weeks of new growth is a bad looking thing to me but generally people wait 4 weeks. It is chemicals, ya know.

Art does. It'd be a losing situation to try to color hair like his. It'd be cut off every haircut. Which is probably why JLC lets her be grey.

She would look much better with colored hair, and longer.

But you would find me charming. :thumbsup2 Trust me. I have judged no one by their appearance only to say I don't care for the look of grey hair on a woman.

OK, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. :)

Silver hair = not maintaining yourself .. WHO KNEW ??

Paula's hair cracks me up , different every month, but the color is GORGEOUS .

Don't worry girls .. I am pretty sure we wouldn't find much attractive about PP , starting with personality .

Peace , Love and hair dye Y'all !

He has a head full of them (for a while, the PP had a thing about posting photos - some of them included him in them).
