Hi, this will be our first trip to Disney and I can't wait. I have booked a CP package for the Rose and Crown and realize by reading the threads that is it is difficult to get a patio seat (especially since we have a party of 7).

However, if I follow correctly, if you are seated inside at the Rose and Crown, you can go outside on the patio when Illuminations starts? Does anyone know if this is encouraged by the CMs or do you have to just get up and do it??

Many thanks, I love these forums

We've been seated outside both trips. Adn I honestly can't recall people comming out or not.....Im sure noone frown on it unless you stand right infront of seated folks or something.

I perceive it is not encouraged by the CM unless you mention your desire to do this, but by no means does Disney frown upon this practice...just don't block the views of the individuals sitting at the tables in the patio area.

The first time I ate on the patio I overheard our server discussing that people would be coming outside to watch Illuminations (none did, however -- it was a cold night). No one came outside the 2nd time I was there, either. I'm not exactly sure where people would stand --- the server seemed to be clearing away some things from the back wall, against the building, on the upper level. That would be an OK view of the lower action, but the awnings prevent people on the upper level from viewing the high fireworks.

PS. Not every table has a good view -- DH and I got the worst one.

We went to the R&C last Feb. When checking in the man in front of us made a huge fuss because he was told he would have an outdoor seat. I felt so sad for the CM. I was next and said I too would like a seat outside but would understand if we couldn't get it. Well, neither group got a seat outside but near the end of our meal a CM ask my DD4 if she could help Mickey start the show since he was stuck in traffic. We were brought outside and my DD was told to wave a light up wand and when she did everything started, it was unbelievable. She was so excited!! as were we. Now for the viewing response. As we were waiting for the CM for cue her some people did file out and watch from the wall and on the steps. No one went in front of the table dinners. I think if you ask about watching Illuminations a CM will take you and show you were to go. :)
