Hi guys. We have 3 rooms for an upcoming cruise. In two of the rooms are platinum members so they got an 11:15 pat. In the 3rd room they were gold and got an 11:45 pat and a little later boarding group. Can the 11:45 pat just join and enter with the earlier group? The cruise is out of fort Lauderdale

Thanks

Nope. But you can wait and join them at their time and boarding group. You can board later but not earlier.

That is the by the books answer and certainly the answer DCL agents will give over the phone.

But sometimes a smile opens doors. Wouldn't count on it, but does happen.

Is it really so hard for people to just follow the rules? Their PAT is 11:45. Thats when they should arrive and they should board when their group is called.

I don't pretend or want to be the morality police but I don't think western civilization is going to fail if a party sticks together and boards a few minutes early. People do it all the time for less reason. Shrugs. First world problems.

Like I said, sometimes a smile opens doors. and it costs nothing and hurts no one and might even feel good (smiling)

They can stick together and board at their time. When you are at WDW are you ok with people cutting you to join their party in line (assuming for non medical reasons or an emergency with a small child)? How is this rule any different? Just hang out the extra 30 minutes (at most) in the terminal and board together or meet them once they are on the ship

Smiling is great but it shouldn't be used as a way to get something. Smile because you are happy or appreciate the workers. Do not make it awkward for them where they feel pressured to break the rules for you.

Like I said, I try not to manufacture reasons to get upset. We aren't talking about a cut in line situation, but to answer your question, if it's someone elderly joining in, then nope, I wouldn't get upset. If it was a couple of people out of a larger group, again not likely to get upset. And in this case we don't even know who if anyone is in line, after the initial rush I often see gaps in boarding where no one is in line at all and they are just happy for folks to get on board. Heck, in our case we were just standing there with family because we had the exact same problem, 3 cabins, 3 different boarding times (and I was waiting :P), my wife and I were recognized by a CM from a previous cruise, and they actually beckoned us through.

And you better believe we all smiled and said thank you.
