I was checking out the menus online and Pastamore looks like heaven to me (I love Italian food). How is it? Do we need to make a reservation for dinner that morning or could we just walk over after a day in the parks? Would the wait be really long at 6:00pm?

Thanks!

I haven't eaten there but you should be able to walk in at Pastamore w/o having to make reservations. But...you could stop by that morning and make reservations if you chose.

My friends and I both had their napoleon puff pastry - we were completely surprised that instead of tasting like regular bland custard it had a peach flavor to it.

Oh and they have a full bar and a very funny employee called Germany (no joke).

Pastamore used to be one of our favorite restaurants and we would hit it at least a couple of times every trip.

However, the last few trips we have been sorely disappointed. The food quality seems to be slipping as well as the service.

If you want really good Italian food, take the boat over to the Portofino and try Mama Dellas.

we always eat here a few times when on vacation, and never been dissapointed.
In July DD wanted to go to Margaritaville, but the wait was 1hour 15 mins, now i like Margaritaville but its not that good to wait that long. So decided to go to Pastamore again, and where seated straight away. Cannot understand why you very seldom have to wait on a table here, as the food and service is excellent.

At the front of the restaurant they also have a counter where you can order your food and bring to your own table (self service). We just did this on our trip a couple of weeks ago, because we were kind of in a rush. The food is excellent.

Didn't you use your room key to expedite your wait? ;)

We walked into Pastamore and sat right away...place was barren. Service was slow, food was slow coming out and when it finally did, it was cold! Asked for seperate checks, didn't get it. Food was almost as good as going to Olive Garden....I give Olive Garden the edge.... but, that's our experience.

Ours too the last couple of times. And what a shame, as the kids used to want to hit Pastamore as soon as we got off the plane. My son loves the pasta dish that has the clams, scallops, etc in it. But said the last couple of times it was just plain bad. But as you said, that is just our experience. We could have hit a few bad nights. Perhaps the main chef was on vacation.

Not basing this on anything, but it does cause me to wonder why you can always walk right in at Pastamore and there are waits at all the other CityWalk restaurants.

This was the wait with the room key Barb, cannot remember what he said without it.
See you are booked for next year:dance3:

REALLY?! THAT long WITH the key? I wonder if concierge could make you a res? Then, you wouldn't have such a long wait.....

Yep...we are booked for next July...doing things backward next year. Going to my BILs at the beach for few days before my FILs...then to UO and home from there. Backwards schedule/plan is better than none :thumbsup2

We are doing a week at the beach, kept saying we would go for a couple of days but never got round to it, so booked a week there.
Any stay no matter what way you it is worth it.

Good plan...if you book it, you will go! :thumbsup2

we did dinner here in october last year - no wait - but we were really disappointed with the food - my dd loves fettucine alfredo but this alfredo sauce had a taste that was indescribale and not in the good way - my bf ordered the lasagne and it had both marinara and alfredo sauce which we both thought was odd ( i am sure it was explained on the menu but of course he didnt read past the lasagne part) i had cheese raviolis and wasnt impressed with them. my personal opinion would be not to waste your time

I guess everyone has different experiences and opinions, but we just went here the end of August, and everyone loved the food.

We also went at the end of August and had a nice time. The food is much better value for money than HRC, which was our only other culinary adventure at City Walk. I had some pasta in pesto with ots of veggies and the veggies were really nice - fresh and not overcooked. The fried ravioli was also lovely, and they served warm bread which was nice because we were STARVING! The only problem we had was that they wouldn't accept my friend's temporary drivers' license as ID (we had no problems anywhere else) so our plan to console ourselves with alcohol (we were in the middle of TS Fay!) didn't work. We spent that money elsewhere :rotfl:
